It is going to be interesting. If I was Dean Cox, I would really think about joining the Sydney Swans coaching staff to develop my coaching career.

I really want Dean Cox at Geelong. But, if you really look at it, is Chris Scott a good coach when 80% of his playing list do not want to play for him?

The second question is any prospective recruit who wants to switch clubs and any aspiring assistant coach would do his research into Geelong. They would realise that since 2012 Geelong under Chris Scott have miserably failed in training up the Geelong players' skill level to withstand the September and big game heat and when you recruit for the now, any head coach or football department would make sure that all bases are covered in terms of player development and training up the players' skill levels. This means improving any weaknesses in Dangerfield's game or Selwood's game by an extra 5 to 10 per cent.

The third question is whether the club's hierachy is making excuses for finishing in the top 2 and failing to make the Grand Final? There are no excuses in elite sport. I had a laugh and I was about to throw up when I head Colin Carter's speech at the Best and Fairest. He reminds me of the late Ron Hovey.

There are no points for 2nd to 18th place!!

Ahhh...I see you are back...albeit apparently, temporarily.

The bolded is unsubstantiated nonsense...but do carry on.....

Self evident don't you think John?

No problem with scrutiny on the Club, coach or players..I'm all for it...it leads to interesting and usually constructive debate........but when it becomes incessant, one sided and/or abusive from individual posters, then scrutiny is applied in response.

Thats just the lay of the land.

N.B. There are many options available apart from the Geelong Board on BF.

Nothing. Two are negatively slanted but entitled to feel that way.
One was a troll and rightfully removed for the sanity of the rest.
Got no issue with criticism, wherever it's justified and constructive.

But criticism to twist discussions, used for its own sake, used mockingly, and / or to solely pursue a manifesto becomes tiring and disruptive.

I think the mods do a good job maintaining a healthy balance.

Agreed. Those remaining are on the right side of the line.

That proves absolutely nothing. No concrete evidence whatsover.

Where was this disconnect when we smashed Sydney? Where was it when we finished equal top of the ladder?
As tempting as it is to add 2 + 2 and end up with 37, it'll little more than an opinion of Kingley's. Who last played for the club 11 years ago. Someone else more knowledgeable than me might know, but does he have any role around the club?

I'd love to criticise the club and Scott if warranted (and I do and have), but there needs to be some semblance of evidence. This doesn't really have any.

I reckon there is bullshit coming out of your mouth whilst you are watching footy with 1 eye closed and believing in the bull shit propaganda Colin Carter and Chris Scott are saying to the mainstream media.
Okay then, educate me. What propaganda is Colin and Chris saying to the mainstream?

Now we are stuck with scott.. who can we get around him to better achieve results? I think mccarthy as an assistant. We need coaches who know how to develop younger players
Who's available?

Like I've said before I think we need a forward's coach who's proactive, ambitious, and someone who won't accept mediocrity.

Is Paul Chapman available?

Wallace talking about Tigers win on TR. Said that 8/9 times a smaller team (such as Richmond) vs a tall team (eg: Geelong/GWS) the smaller team won. They only had 5 players over 190cm on the ground in the GF. Hope Scotty changes that in the off season loves his talls a bit to much.

We were too tall for the match V Adelaide, let alone the match V Richmond.

Will people admit that Chris Scott, a first-year coach, outcoached Michael Malthouse, a 27 year coach, in a Grand Final?

Also, will you admit that it was genius by Scott to move Jimmy Bartel forward in the 2011 GF, winning us the game?

I don't remember what Mark Thompson did in that game (since he is credited for that flag).

What makes anyone think Scott will learn after 7 years how to prepare the team for finals.
What makes me think you are trolling? Maybe the fact this thread was dormant for 3 weeks until you decided to stir it up again when there's nothing at all on the coaching side of things to report which is the case across most clubs deep in the off season..

After a radio interview earlier in the year with CS it seems like he'll wanna retire when this contract is up.
I think it would be a great move to throw money at McCartney and promise him the senior role at the end of 2019.
He could start to work with the young players ASAP while also learning our system from our current coaches.
All coaches say they were better the 2nd time around.
