Could he be a key position backman? He's quick and can chase down players pretty well??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I think he could. He will need to learn accountability but I think the biggest query would be his ability to read the play. If he can and a gorilla appears at FF then we have strengthed up 2 areas of the ground. He may average 2 goals a game ,which shouldnt be too hard to replace, but the downside is what he creates with Rocca and Fraser when they are all on song.

I wouldnt wanna see him on the half back line. Perhaps CHF, or a wing would be ok, but as has already been mentioned we don't know how well he reads the play from a midfield perspective. Right now i dont see him being moved up the field until we can find another 1-2 players to hold down a position in the goal square. with fraser out, and rocca out for probably the rest of the year its unlikely.

If Malthouse goes with an experimental setup this week I would like to see Rusling come in and have a go at FF, with perhaps Walker, T or C Cloke being the 2nd foward. Then push Tarrant to CHF and let him roam up the ground abit (without leaving our forward 50 empty) as well as dropping into the forward line to provide that extra option when necessary. Ive always thought that would be his best role.

Best case scenario would be Tarrant CHF, Rocca and Fraser in the forward line with richards ruck. Rocca IMO is too unfit to leave at CHF.

As it stands, with tarrant playing as our one out forward, he is doing good except his kicking is letting him down massively. Definitly needs to be worked on.

Turning Taz into a responsible stodgy defender would be like giving Michealangelo a job as a house painter. Where to put him exactly though, I dunno.

But he isnt a stodgy player. It would give us some class down back and hopefully an attacking half back. he wouldnt be able to play CHB on all players but Rivers had lit up Melbournes back line and I think Taz could do the same for us. Not in the forseeable future however as we need to replace some key forward stocks but next year and beyond.

Magpies Dave 100 % correct.

No one is saying Tarrant cant play. I have been a pies supporter since 66, so have seen plenty of forwards at Collingwood in that time and Tarrant would be worse kick of nearly all of them.

We would have won 2002 grand final if he had kicked 2 goals in 3rd quarter when we lead by 11 points, If 24 plus in front Lions would not have come back.
The other night Essendon needed LLoyd and he kicked 3 from 50 or further, when we were only 12 points down but needed a goal, Tarrant misses from 35m in front.

Get best kick for goal ever aseen in Peter Mckenna to take him aside and teach. Mckenna would get 7 touches for a game and kick 6.1 or 5.2 on bad day.

Another constructive comment. Are you talking about yourself here?

Hey Blue Right Through or is it "Mr every comment I make is constructive"?

Evidently you have nothing better to say and have single handedly made yourself look like a Class A F--K WIT. You will progress in life, deliberating why you were so unfortunate and will come to the realisation that you warranted that title.

If anyone makes a comment, such as the one I replied to, it is within my entitlement to state an opinion... In this case, I believed it was a ridiculous comment and was straight to the point...

Clearly your comment was completely constructive. Well done, a blue Supporter genius

i have almost had enough of the collingwood supports on here bagging Chris Tarrant. He has no easy jobs now the Rocca is out and that Josh only played one game this year. Chris is still only young, he has done prob a 80 % job for us this year. It's not his fault this year we havnt had Buckley,Woey, etc hitting him on the chest time and time again like years gone by. Blokes like Obree and Shaw are kicking the ball to him which is a little harder than out great skipper. How is the bloke gonna feel running out their every week when people continue to bag him week after week after week. People wanting to trade Chris is stupid besides 3 or 4 others blokes he would be someone the pies is going to hold on to for the next 10 or so years. Go easy pie fans lets get back to supporting our great club not bagging it
Thats the spirit, I know some Kangas supporters are saying to trade him. If we do whop will take over a tallented athelete like him?

yeahnah, that's a very sensible take jimmy.

Your problem is not Tarrant, it is your coach. His draft choices over the last three years have been poor. You are now struggling as a team.

So you KNOW that our coach actually does the drafting, with HIS choices.

Hmmmm, so our recruiting department is responsible for what then?

Do you honestly believe we are a struggling team, how did you come by that brilliant piece of deductive work sherlock

Murray boy - look at the hiding you copped by Freo and above all look at where you are on the ladder. You will be the wooden spooners and your 2005 season is already shot. Hope you are not expecting finals footy this year.

Agreed, there is a team assisting with the recruiting but the head coach has the final say or major input on the new players. There is no way Super Mick would not have the final say.

As I thought, you know NOTHING about our recruiting, you just make it up as you go along so as to give the appearance you actually know something

So tells us how the recruiting at the Pies works???

So you come on here and tell everyone you know how Collingwoods recruiting works, then I point out to you that you are wrong. Then you tell me you are right and that I am wrong and at the end of it all - you ask me how our recruiting works.
What a dip sh1t you are

The reason we are losing is we have been crueled by injuries, it's that simple. We have had 1 bad draft and that was 2002 so recruiting isn't the problem. Neither is the coach, you can't make chicken out of chicken feathers. What you have done Jarman is anounced yourself as a Bigfooty idiot who has no understanding of the game. How did Melbourne go without their stars, loss, the Saints have injuries how did they go, loss. Your task now is it get some credibilty or gain someb insight into the game rather than make broad ranging statements that have no basis in fact.

Bigfooty idiot or not, Collingwood are still bottom and will remain so. You have got nowhere to go and will cop a few more hidings as you did from Freo.

o·pin·ion

A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof

There is no such thing as a wrong opinion... There are certainly uneducated opinions or opinions based on misinformation... which I believe is the point you are trying to make...

Ironically, it is you Blue right through, who seems to be the uneducated one.

ps... How about a nice warm cup of STFU *cough*

I think Nebula spends too much time looking for Uranus :)

Fairly obvious what has happened here... bfra (user name) who is in the same dream team league as I am in has sent you a private message... The only thing Blue Right through is that "bfra" only wished I had those sorts of proclivities... :)

Again, that is only my opinon :D

The only thing I know inferno, is that Brad Hardie is a complete moron, who absolutely hates Malthouse with a passion.

I'd put a fair whack of money that he made the story up because he was too busy stuffing his gob full of donuts during the week, to unearth an actual story!

Do you also blame someone else for making you support Collingwood?
