Trades involving contracted players

Hampson for pick 28.
Stanley for pick 21.
Dawes and pick 45 for picks 20 and 58.
Vince for pick 20.
Wellingham for pick 17.
Fevola and pick 27 for pick 12 and Henderson.

With Yarran younger than these players and committing to Richmond, Carlton will have the final call. For the Blues to be satisfied, it will have to involve a first round pick or a former first round pick like Lennon.

We kept Thornton and Walker who wanted to leave as uncontracted players. Blues aren't going to sacrifice a player who is younger and more damaging than these players, let alone Robinson, Garlett, Waite and Laidler who haven't been busts.
You must be sad. Given your username and all.

You can keep arguing till your blue in the face. You ain't getting a first for a guy you banished to the ressies, didn't turn up to your b&f, wants out and is nominating a particular club.

It will drag on as you will be getting the highest second rounder we can get. If it ends up we don't get any higher than the one we have now. Guess what you will be receiving.

Had a chat around the club and few big heads are of the strong belief Carlton will bounce next year but not sure how high. I asked about Yarran and the response was, what about him, he is contracted.

If Carlton bounces in 2016 Yaz will play a big role as we need leg speed and none of the coaches want him to leave.
Lol a few big heads said Carlton will bounce.

Heard it all now.

If Yarran stays at Carlton in 2016, he'll get a fair amount of rest on the sidelines, because he won't want any part of playing for Carlton.

His value will decrease to a 3rd or possibly 4th round compensation pick, because he will be a bigger risk for us to take, and we will offer him less money as a result, which means the tier he's under for compo will go down.

As of 2017, regardless of where he is in 2016, Chris Yarran will be a Richmond FC footballer, so the question is very simple; are we happy to wait the extra year to get him for free, or do we give Carlton a 2nd round pick now?

I'm happy to give Carlton a 2nd round pick to get him a year early, but quite honestly, the RFC are not going to budge on that, because we aren't the ones who will be stuck with a disgruntled player if no deal occurs.

It's such basic and simple logic for Carlton to take their 2nd round pick and run with it, and help their rebuild. But if they don't wanna do it, that's no skin off the RFC's back, we're happy to wait the extra year, provided Carlton is happy to probably get less than that aforementioned 2nd round pick in a compo selection. :)

How does holding him help you get rid of dead weight? He is the dead weight. The salary cap minimum is a non issue.

He's hardly going to be "currency" worthy of holding onto in a years time when he hits FA. The AFL will give you bugger all compensation for a guy who hasn't strung 2 seasons of football together, worse than the 2nd round pick we're currently offering.
If we hold onto him we still have to make room for draft pick selections to come in so 1 extra player goes, if we lose him we need extra experience so we hold onto that older player we will delist (armfield/warnock) and draft one less kid

When will you idiots learn that to pry him away from carlton next year you will need to offer more then the 400k he is already on, what kind of player is going to leave their club for a 100k pay cut? Worst case scenario is band 3 which is pick 20 providing we don't improve, pick 24 at worst.

That's nice.

Won't happen.
It will and you know why? Because your club and Yarran himself don't have a say in the matter. He will play VFL or he can spend 12 months out of the game without pay and see who wants to pick him up for the 2017 season without any competitive football under his belt.

Sounds like there may be a meeting of the minds after the 2016 season:thumbsu:

If Carlton don't co-operate, I'm pretty sure the AFLPA will get involved and suck all your time during trade period worrying about Yarran and his welfare.
Why would they do that? Yarran is employed by the AFL league effectively and if the AFL cannot show integrity and true fair competition and stand by contracts the fans walk away and the AFL community goes back to normal 9-5 jobs

This is what I do not get.

I am a Richmond fan, I am happy for Yarran to stay another year to 2016 at CFC.

Carlton fans seem happy for Yarran to stay another year at CFC to 2016.

The fans represent the clubs, who do you represent?
If fans represent clubs then I represent Richmond.

You seem to represent Carlton though.

Lol a few big heads said Carlton will bounce.

Heard it all now.

Confident with Kreuzer the worst is behind him - primed to have a big year as reaching that age bracket for big guys.
Hendo will go to Geelong - asked if deal is done and I got no.

Depth in every position will be the mantra of list management instead of versatile players.

Asked about the forward line - 2017 is the year to look into it but Andrew Walker, Everitt, Casboult, Kreuzer, Rowe will suffice for 2016.

I said that forward line is not going to kick enough goals - they said outside leg speed and delivery was more important and happy with Boekhorst need to add more outside run.

Asked about Aish " will find out next week"

Asked about Yarran - "he is contracted"

Asked about Jaegar Omeara coming out of contract next season - "too early to tell" (I like the way it was said too)

Asked about Carlisle "very interested"

Asked about AGM as I won't be in Melbourne -said every year is the same rubbish too many promises and not enough delivery..too much sugar coating ....this is changing.

Asked about TPP and salary cap " its looking good and will look really good in 24 months time all our big guns are locked in for at least another two years"

Asked about Menzel " he is contracted"

I said here's my credit card and will upgrade my membership ;)

I represent Richmond and their premiership prospects including the players .

You seem to represent someone or thing that needs to get a deal done no matter what! Do you have any associates or relatives working in the footy dept concerned about their job security?

I have no qualms getting Yarran in 2016 via FA, in fact I prefer it!!

Seriously that's your answer. Just wondering what price you'd put on Lennon's head. Are scared to give an answer?
How would you like me to describe not for sale?

I think he is a future gun integral in our future successes including GF wins.

Apart from his talent when a player tattoos a Tiger on his Torso I call that dedication!

Go hug your loved ones. It's ok. He's no world beater.

Okay now you've really lost the plot. You've argued with so many people today you don't have a clue who you're talking to anymore.

My point all along has been that we're not so desperate to get Yarran which is why we most likely won't offer anything more than our current 2nd round offer. But you're telling me now that I represent someone that "needs to get a deal done no matter what".

You're not a bad bloke but you really do need to take a break as you haven't made any sense all day.
