Don't believe he plays in the AFL anymore. Meant Lewis Jetta
On form, Lewis Jetta is worth a lot more. I think Yarran has a lot more upside than Jetta though. I think if Yarran played in the Sydney team he'd be a better player than Jetta is, same at Hawthorn or any other top four club.

Dear Richmond, we really need to get Yarran out of his contract. If we packaged him together with Cripps, and I know its a risk as both players may never play as well as they have in the past, do you think we could get your fourth round pick and a Disco Roach poster?

I'd consider a Cripps for Astbury straight swap? Maybe throw in Yarran as the steak knives.

If Yarran is perceived damaged goods, then clubs will be cautious to overpay for him. If that's the case honour the contract, back in your new coach/environment to turn him around and play him as the small forward/hff we are crying out for.

If that doesn't work then he's a FA and we are basically guaranteed a top 20 pick.

In that scenario, Yaz goes where he wants and we get far better remuneration OR he stays and falls back in love with us.....

Win/win

Form isn't a great guide to how that type of player will go at another club though. I don't rate Jetta, expect someone will pay too much for him like with Wellingham. Hope it's Essendon

Sorry to drop in guys, but for me, with his inconsistency and perceived attitude problems, I'd say a pick between 18-25 is about right for Yarran.

Potential 3 way trade:

Richmond:

In: Yarran
Out: Astbury, Third Rounder

Brisbane:

Out: Second Rounder (20)
In: Astbury, Third Rounder

Carlton:

In: Pick 20
Out: Yarran

Would you guys accept that?

Not a bad idea, but pick 20 is too little for Yarran mate.

I agree on form he is worth not much, but he is contracted, a former pick #6 and has played elite periods throughout his career. I reckon we will lose him for unders due to the circumstances, but he's worth around the 12-16 mark imo.

Yarran is worth a little more than that , mid to late 1st rounder plus a young fringe player of some worth or no trade.
Either we get a reasonable offer or Yarran finds himself given a refreshing stint next season playing with our seconds.

The thing is, he may be worth 12-16 and at his best I'd agree with you, but taking his current situation into account, he is inconsistent, and has attitude problems. Based on that I'd say that his current worth is a late first, early second round. 16-25 range.

Form isn't as big a factor as leverage.

There's very little leverage for teams wanting Yarran as he is contracted.

A lot can change in 12 months.
