The answer is a resounding "****in' oath". He's contracted, and is only playing poorly because he wants out. The minute he steps into a new club he'll flick the switch turn it on again. Richmond's time is now, if they want to make a serious play for a flag it's gotta be in the next two years - if Yarran gets parked in our VFL team for all of next year, what kind of condition do you think he'll be in at season's end? He'll stack on the weight, lose most of his pace and touch, and will need a whole season to get back anywhere near his best. If you want him, now's the time - and a kid at pick 14 is all well and good, but by the time they're hitting their straps you've either got a flag or missed the boat anyway.
I can't see any reason for Richmond not to give up their first pick for him.
