So where does this leave the Yarran trade ?

Despite the loss, Richmond still feeling they are close and desperate to get some elite talent in ?

...or back to the drawing board, save their picks and go to the draft ???

You would think they would be after elite talent now. Draft picks that wont contribute meaningfully in a few years wont help them now. Still think yarran plus our 2nd for their 1st and 2nd could get it done.

Richmond supporters are dreaming if they think they will get Yarran for a second round pick. Their pick will be around #35. Like I keep telling them. There are 2 clubs in Adelaide that are keen on him.

They can dream all they want, but it's just not going to happen. My bet is that he will be off to Port

He's only worth second rounder though. His past history provides his worth. What are u basing your first round pick on. Just the fact he was a first rounder? False economy, the fact he hasn't lived up to his first round pick is what we have to wear. Pick 22 would be about his worth.

I'm basing it the quality of talent in this draft after today's viewing............Yarran is worth plenty, if one thinks they'll get him back on track.

I didn't say a first round pick. I just said pick 35 won't get it done.

As a Richmond Supporter and Member , My feeling at this moment is that Yarran is not really a ' Must Have Player ' For the Richmond football club.

We were crap in defence and Chaplin was our weak link back there and has just proved that he will not be our long term option at age 30
I would rather trade our 1st selection for Carlisle or Benell who is a proven elite talent that can also play inside unlike yarran.

Absolutely with no dis respect if yarran is available at our 2nd selection or 2nd combined with a fringe player then yes otherwise, I would rather leave well alone
He is cream when on song but rarely on song these days and has only been top 10 in carltons B & F once in his entire time at Carlton.

Maybe he would be better off at a West Coast or Fremantle

Yep - fair enough. Agree - not sure why there isn't more 'noise' from the West re: Yarran. Maybe once the season is over things may change. May be best for Yarran to - you can imagine how much of a whipping boy he will become at Richmond if he doesn't perform (as he has been at Carlton).

Thanks for coming on. You must be hurting at the moment.

Isn't this the same club who offered their first round pick for Jack Trengrove?

I think there is a real chance the Tiges will give up their first round. Today showed that they have a requirement of a Yarran type; would be a perfect link up with Rance. A players value is in the market, Richmond's need is bigger than ours as they are right in the middle of the window. Drafting a young player is not their priority they need a ready made champion. My estimation is that their pick 10 will come to us.

I would say to the Tiges though, buyer beware. Yarran has lost a yard or 2 of pace and can sook it up when things don't go his way.

Who do you support again? Yarran at his best is definitely a first round pick he has had a bad year this year that is reflective of how bad our clubs support staff are. We have had far to many players walk away because we cannot manage them it is time to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

The Tigers will walk away from that knowing what they need - speed. If they don't get it via Yarran then they'll look elsewhere.

I've never seen so many plodders look like superstars as I did in that final. Harvey looked 21 again simply because nobody else could get off the mark. Yarran - proper Yarran - could have dismantled either side tonight.

If Richmond want to have a crack with this list, they'll drop their first for Yarran in a shallow draft and won't look bad. They've had 3 elimination losses in a row, but they'd still fancy themselves to have a crack for the next few years I'd imagine.

There's no need to justify my support because I'm being a realist. Shooting yourself in the foot is drafting a soft outside player at pick 7 in the first place. They are dime a dozen. Players than can win their own ball and break outside with skill and pace should be selected at 7. But hey we had Hughes calling the shots. Now that's putting two barrels in both feet.

You sir are high yarren for our second round pick lock it in
We'll take your first round pick if you really want Yarran to lift your club from being pretenders to... well less pretending pretenders.

What if richmond get kreuzer to help carlton get pick 2? Would carlton settle for second round pick?

But if they lose. It will be even uglier!!
the definition of ugly in a dictionary contains that person crying and screaming at the umpires from when we smashed them in the 2013 EF :)

Now that was ****ing ugly.

Hope things work out with Carlisle :) When the 2 year ban kicks in, there will be more tears :D

Or we trade with other clubs to get a early second round pick like 20-25 thoughts?
Your first round pick is around pick 12 now isnt it?

As someone else suggested, your first and a trade of second round picks for Yarran. Despite him being out of sorts all this season, he is still an elite talent and you pay for them.

Richmond don't need Yarran. They have Cotchin, Deledio and others such as Grigg, etc. that play similar outside roles. What they need is some inside grunt to get the ball out to these runners. Some one like Cripps!!!!

Thanks Andy

Im kind of OK with it really, I didnt think we were a top 4 team and my expectations were reserved and thought 1 win would be about it for us this year.

I see Richmond as a young team with Delidio being our oldest 'Crucial player" and Newman,Petterd,Foley,Knights all retired and Chaplin/Maric left but not really long term options.

2017-2021 is where i would see our window as being 'Open'

But still slightly dissapointed that a player like Waite & Harvey were the players that we just couldnt contain
