First of all what are the chances GWS would give up Luke Brown? Would think they would keep him but would love him at the Tiges.

Do u think Darrou dominates due to his size advantage? That would be my concern with him.

How much impact on Greene's draft position will today have? Gee he was dominant at the clearances. Disposal was very neat too. Never tries to do too much.

Unlikely that GWS would give up Brown. He'll be a ready made player for GWS, could play at either end of the ground. I'd imagine any prospective team would have to give up an experienced player for him, doubt they would gift him away like GC did with Mzungu and Faulks.

Darrou's body work is pretty good, but he does get by largely on strength at the moment. He's one I will be watching, but there aren't really any tests at the combine which can answer how he will go against taller and stronger opponents. But I see a fair bit of Josh Gibson in him, and he is doing pretty well for himself - as is someone like Antoni Grover.

Not sure if Greene's game will really impact his draft position too much. I reckon he is in the 10-15 group and was before today's game, not sure he will quite crack the top 10 unless GWS trade one of their picks. Very little to not like about him really, although I would have liked to have seen more of an outside game from him at times. But his contested work is great, and he seems to know his limits too.

Plenty of WAFL players were looking to impress the scouts over the weekend. All three grand finals were played, as well an U23 exhibition game. So it would have been a busy couple of days over in the west.

The best players in the Colts GF unfortunately aren't available in this draft - Tom Mitchell has already been signed by Sydney, while Mason Shaw and Shannon Taylor are both for next year. Although Taylor did his chances of getting picked up in the mini-draft no harm at all.

Shane Kersten kicked 5 goals, working nicely with the bigger Shaw up forward. I think Kersten is pretty underrated around here. He had a great year as a 17 year old, making his league debut and being very unlucky to not go to GWS. Had some injury problems this year, but his finish to the season has been as good as you could ask for - 24 goals in 5 games. I have no problems with suggestions he is undersized for a forward, Kersten is strong and very quick on the lead.

Otherwise, I would say Marley Williams was the next best. Yeah he can be a little undisciplined, but he'd one of the more natural talents in the draft and I wouldn't be surprised if someone went early with him. His speed and endurance are better than I first thought, and he always looks dangerous when delivering the ball to his forwards.

Myles Bolger wasn't really up against much, but he dominated the ruck as you would have expected. While Ah Chee, Verrier and Schloithe all showed some good signs too.

Plenty of mature players would have impressed too - Luke Blackwell and Kane Mitchell continued to rack up the touches, and Blackwell in particular will get drafted. I'm not sure quite how much improvement they have in him, but they'd be solid rookie depth. Kyal Horsley probably has a better chance of forcing his way into an AFL team, and I know a number of WA people who are high on him. And I'm still big on Tom Lee, he was up and about early when the game was to be won but did fade a little. Also all the talk a few months ago was that GWS would pre-list Beau Wilkes, I imagine that talk will start up again now after his 5 goal game.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to check out the U23 game, which is a shame because that game was a big factor in Mzungu getting drafted last year. All I know is that Mark Hutchings kicked 5 goals and had nearly 40 touches. Which is a little odd considering he has only kicked 11 goals in his 36 game career. Looks like he'll find his way onto a rookie list again.

Yeah? I've only heard rumours about Kennedy so far.

Until it's official, I'll be keeping any potential pre-listed players in my draft. It's impossible to guess who they might be anyway - who would have guessed Mzungu, Faulks, Ceglar and Phillips last year?

Since you're a Sydney fan, I'm going to assume you're talking about Tom Mitchell and not Kane Mitchell...

Well he was the leading possession winner on the ground - in a losing team. And finished with 7 tackles. I probably haven't watched him all that closely this year, because we all knew he was going to Sydney anyway. But even when I'm not focusing on him, I always seem to notice him. He'd still be my #4 in an open draft.

I'm a big fan of Waldhuter. Came into the season with big wraps on him, but didn't star at the U18 Championships. And as a result, he hasn't been talked about as much. But he is without a doubt, the best tackler in the draft and potentially the best inside midfielder in terms of getting the ball out. Plays a lot like Jordan Lewis - the most desperate player on the ground each week.
Damn that video today...no chance of Waldhuter at our 2nd rounder. (kind of knew it deep down) Maybe we will take the punt in the 1st if the big names are all gone. Love his attack.

What about Kersten? Is he too much of a reach with our first pick? Seems to have been very impressive late in the season.

Elton is a better prospect than Henderson for mine. Stronger and a better forward - although that is perhaps not saying much as Henderson isn't much of a forward. But yeah, I like Elton.

Kersten might be considered a bit early, but that could change given he will likely impress as the draft combine again. Not sure he will quite break the top 10 though.

Not overly surprised that Hawthorn have decided not to pick up Tom Curran as a F/S selection. He looks like a promising type - but also one that different teams would rate very differently. Like a lot of the KPPs out there, wouldn't surprise if some considered him a second round while others were looking more at the rookie draft.

Perhaps Hawthorn have other plans for their early picks? But I suppose when you're only going to make two live selections, then you don't want to be committed to a player.

Also looking like Steve Morris might knock back the F/S option from Richmond to remain in SA and play for Port Adelaide. If he does knock them back, that's one of the ten GWS pre-listed players down.

I still want Henderson to play forward for his workrate, decision making, good hands, mobility and clean disposal as a lead up player.

Paine's highlights package reminds me of Lachie's best games as a CHF.

From what I have seen Elton can play fairly good at CHB do you think that's where he might end up playing in AFL.

Both should be gone by then, but of the two Dobosz would be more likely to slip down to a pick around the 40 mark for me. Nothing against him, just that Paine offers a bit more in regards to versatility.

I'm a big wrap for Paine. He is the bigger of the two, and probably plays that way too despite often playing further up the ground. I would have Kersten just ahead of him, but it wouldn't surprise me if Paine was the next KPF taken after Elton.

Just a couple of quick changes, based on the last couple of days.

Although I took Curran out as a F/S pick, I left him at Hawthorn. I wanted a tall for Hawthorn, and thought he was the best available at their pick. I also took out Adam Kennedy and moved him to the list of GWS pre-listed players (in the second post). As a result I moved Elliot Yeo from the Saints to the Crows, and Peter Persinos got bumped up to the Saints pick.

Although it looks like Steve Morris will also be pre-listed, I've left him at Richmond for now.

Great effort Chris, I see your into the Norwood boys too. Good to see you have Ben Gazolla there, I've heard the bulldogs and GWS are sniffing. I can see Kieran McGuiness getting a shot on the rookie list too, maybe GWS.

As for the bulldogs picks, I can't really see us taking an inside mid. We have Boyd, Cross, Wallis and Libba. Then Addison as backup (and Reid if he doesn't get delisted). We really need run and carry types that can use it well especilly in the back half.
