Big difference between a criminal proceeding and the general public.
Criminal proceeding has the ability to take away someone's liberty...so it's fair enough their is a tough hurdle to get over before it can do that.
General public on the other hand, has no power at all in relation to any person accused of anything.

That 'innocent until proven guilty' concept is the problem for any lynch mob.

You have to prove people are guilty for good reason, not require the innocent to prove themselves innocent based on, what was that again ... political convenience.

Go for it with the faux outrage, the misrepresentations ....

Metaphorical lynch mob...massive difference to a real lynch mob.

Squib !
What would it do to your mental health .... the participants are every bit as guilty either way. No room for the caring sharing impostors until guilty as charged.

What is with this constant running defense of anything related to accused sex offenders?

It's a really weird place to position yourself on such a regular basis.

Didn't see you do the same thing with Bill Shorten, why is that? Is it a partisan thing?

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a legal phrase.

Out in the real world, a credible accusation carries weight in people's minds.

For example, if your child's sport coach was accused of abusing a child, but found "not guilty", do you still leave your kid alone with the coach?

Of course you don't. So it's not always "innocent until proven guilty".

Hell, with my kids, it's guilty until proven innocent. It's called stranger-danger.

It is a long held principle of the judicial system that court is open.
You can go down to your local court and hear all kinds of accusations...from the sublime to the ridiculous.

You're not advocating for secret courts are you?

Shouldn't you blokes be happy that you got your presumption of innocence?
According to RWNJs it's the be all. The Rule of Law n all that.

The allegations against Shorten had little to no substance & it was treated as it should have been. Partisan no.

You raise secret courts , YOU not me & then you run a line of nonsense to justify YOUR claim.

Innocent until proven guilty is the issue that you seek to deny.

So you agree, the allegations against Pell and Porter have more substance.

Is that why you feel the need to defend them? If they had no substance you wouldn't bother?

The presumption of innocence means that no one is presumed guilty until the prosecution has proved the charge beyond a reasonable doubt. This principle comes from article 14(2) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
These allegations have been around for 30 years so we are told, & Porter has not been charged, & the presumption of innocence applies, try as you do to make the comparison with kiddy fiddling.
In this case Porter has chosen to hold the ABC to account in a Court of Law. We will know next week the details of the ABC defense.

In order to prove someone guilty you need to have trial.

One step in that process is having an investigation.
The next would be to gather evidence.
It appears that some people are claiming that this process was tampered with by one or more individuals.

Any or all of the people who may have tampered with the process of Law could be found guilty if there was an investigation into that issue.

I personally would not take either Scott Morrison or Christian Porters word for anything.
Both are exposed liars.

Therefore I think a real, independent investigation into the entire affair should be held.
Would you call an Independent investigation into the handling of the rape claims against Christian Porter a "lynch mob"?

Who would conduct this investigation? If not the police whom ... specialise in such things.

Where did I call an independent investigation a lynch mob?

What is an independent investigation here?

An independent investigation must be run by Labor or by Labor donors.

Police is unacceptable.

Man I'm beginning to think this independent, fair and balance investigator is a ruse.

Start from a position of guilt & require the accused to prove the lynch mob wrong. Dont know the political tag for such views, its not the ALP.

Funny coming from the guy who accused a rape victim of lying about it to get paid
