Big difference between a criminal proceeding and the general public.
Criminal proceeding has the ability to take away someone's liberty...so it's fair enough their is a tough hurdle to get over before it can do that.
General public on the other hand, has no power at all in relation to any person accused of anything.
That 'innocent until proven guilty' concept is the problem for any lynch mob.
You have to prove people are guilty for good reason, not require the innocent to prove themselves innocent based on, what was that again ... political convenience.
Go for it with the faux outrage, the misrepresentations ....
