Oh, and I should add it is a massive stretch to connect the actions of the students to the ABC. They aren't in anyway connected.

Lol not connected. Jones was probably chanting along in his head. He and his biased production team were outed in spectacular style exposing the sham of balanced audience participation on Q&A, when a huge chunk of the audience is turfed out then takes a selfie for the world to see

I actually enjoy Christopher Pain. (well, be fair, that is how he pronounces it. You have to say it through your nose like he does). He is very good at taking debating points that have no substance at all and constructing an indignant, outraged response to an otherwise unanswerable question. You know, like whether the deficit tax breaks pre-election promises not to increase the tax take. Or why before the election there wasn't a cigarette paper's difference between the ALP and the Libnats on Gonski but now the Libnats have to fix "labor's mess".

The interesting metric when listening to Pain is how loud he shouts at his interrogator. The louder he shouts the more difficulty he is having constructing even a plausible debating point out of his bog of inconsistency. He did a most enjoyable amount of shouting on Qanda. Who he thinks he is shouting at is another amusing thought.

There was a thread on Reddit ages ago about how to get on Qanda, the topic of an even spread of LNP, ALP and Greens was brought up. Most if not all in that thread who claimed to have attended a session claimed they simply labelled themselves as Liberals, even though they weren't, simply to get into the audience. I feel mostly centre these days, maybe a tad bit right, and the Qanda audience definitely seems left to me.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I have a pretty low opinion of Pyne's attitudes and educational policies but he is about the only member of Tone's cabinet I can think of who might be a pleasant dinner guest.

That is certainly saying something.

This is so, and the Qanda staff know it is so but to nothing to stop it because they are of the Left. If a show got infiltrated by the T Party one night the uproar in ABC management would be deafening.

Jpones deliberately set Pyne up but it got out of hand and backfired on him. Simple as that.

Haha yep Check and Maggie-but it wouldn't surprise me if he was good fun out of political arena, whereas Tone, Brandis, Hockey, Bisho et al-can't see it meself. But maybe I do them a disservice?

So you are saying Jones is sympathetic to the Socialist Alliance (the students who protested) because after they were thrown out of the ABC studios they took a selfie. Okkaaay....o_O I don't see Tony Jones in that photo, just kids from the Socialist Alliance.

FWIW, Jones made it pretty clear what he thought of the protesters, and it wasn't complimentary. But don't let that get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.

I can't imagine anyone voting for pyne. He comes across as a pretentious prick.

The Libs should ditch him.

He's there because it's a seat where the majority vote for the party they want in government, and most want the Libs and if it means a dud in the seat than so be it, unfortunately. Same for a few seats in WA.

not where I live. I have a drunk.

It is a little unclear if is was definitely syd, but it was certainly not grub.

It doesn't sound right coming out of his whiny mouth.
There was one article I read quoting sources as saying it was "grub", which also showed the video of the exchange.

The funny thing was, the offending word in the video was blanked out.

If it was indeed "grub", why blank it out?
