If you are after a Peary, Kopparberg is solid, bit sweet though.

The ****ing **** is with Brothers cider. Sold at Glasto for years, can pick it up at a few Threshers Wine merchants around London.

Back to the regular Apple cider, i prefer Strongbow on tap from England, not from Aus though, not a fan of Aus brewed. Will just take a Magners when available.

Shall try to get onto that Burra-bred cider, Belair is 15 mins drive through the hills so will have a look.

Hi all, new member.

Was surprised to see no one mention Harcourt Cider and Perry. Henry of Harcourt make a very nice Perry, well worth the effort to get you're hands on to test it out. Harcourt is a apple growing region in Victoria. Nice place to visit if you are out for a drive.

As far as apples ciders go, try out some French ciders, they know their stuff.

Cheers
Greg

Perhaps I have been out of the country too long, but they don't strike me as good prices at all...

That's the cheapest i've found. Shame, but shit happens.

Everywhere i go, if i'm lucky, they'll have cider and expensive at that. $6 for a strongbow bottle. $10/$11 for a bottle of bulmers (500ml) at some pubs also.

If anyone knows of cheap cider on tap in melbourne city...plz let me know

Kopparberg Cider. Pear (my fav), Apple or Eldderberry

Best cider going around. Was drinking Bulmers and Magners in London and the UK but stumbled across the Kopparberg one night and never looked back. Have only been back a short time and have not looked to hard for it in bottleo's so have not found any.
It is awesome though, a lot smoother than the Bulmers and the like.

This is also my favourite (sweet tooth), can not find the alcoholic version anywhere in Melbourne. You can buy the non alcoholic version at IKEA of all places in Richmond (Yes I did get stitched up, thinking I was buying the alcoholic stuff, and was very disappointed when I got home but it still tasted good)

If anyone can tell me where I can find the alocholic Kopparberg Pear Cider in Melbourne it would be greatly appreciated.

Got back from the Cascade brewery the other day. Was told I couldnt get Mercury Black in Melbourne - surely there is SOMEWHERE that sells it? Please help :D

Cascade Draught and Mercury Black are possibly the only good things about Tasmania.

I still have not found it in Melb town as yet but still looking. It is such a refreshing taste especially in summer.

Drinking a Monarch now.

Not too bad, not the best but is 7%.

Its funny I find that the further you get away from the CBD/Fitzroy the harder it is to find Cider.

I believe 2 Brothers brewery in Morrabbin are now making pear cider. I saw a sign for it the other week at Young & Jackson's.

Quote from 2brothers site:

Gypsy - The crispest Pear Cider ever.
After a heap of research and a bunch of test brewing, we've finally crafted
our first tasty batch of Gypsy - a crystal clear sparkling pear cider.
Gypsy is made from a blend of pears and apples.

Brewer's notes: Sparkling straw color, pear /candy aroma. Gypsy is a
semi-sweet cider with a predominantly pear flavour and vanilla notes.
Medium acidity with a crisp clean finish. Gypsy is a cider worth
travelling for.

St Kilda Cellars on Ackland st are now selling KOPPABERG pear and apple cidar (in cans wtf!) at about $2.50 a can. 330mls. LOVE IT.

Thanks for this info, I've been looking for Koppaberg in Melbourne for two years without success (Other than at IKEA non-alcoholic)

Much appreciated.
