With a win Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals would become the first team to knock out the #1 seed of their conference in consecutive seasons.

The NFL began playoff seeding in 1975.

The only team to knock out the #1 seed of the opposing conference in consecutive seasons was the 1988/89 [](/SF) San Francisco 49ers (SB XXIII vs Bengals, SB XXIV vs Broncos).

No other team has knocked out the #1 seed from either conference in consecutive seasons.

Bonus:

With a win Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals would join the 2010/11 New York Jets as the only teams to win 2+ road playoff games in consecutive seasons.

Well I say it, the Chiefs have fast become my No 1 team to hate. The most protected species on the planet, one of the biggest mouths on the planet and all we are going to hear from the media is Chiefs, Chiefs, Chiefs. I would almost barrack for Pittsburgh, Clevland or the Ravens if they are playing the Chiefs........almost.

Joe Mixon agreed to restructure his contract Friday in order to remain with the Bengals this season, ESPN"s Adam Schefter reports.

Mixon was initially due a non-guaranteed $9.4 million salary for 2023, but he's reworking the deal to stay with the only team he's ever known. It's good news for Mixon's fantasy prospects, as it locks him in as Cincinnati's unquestioned lead back, especially after Samaje Perine left in free agency for Denver. Mixon turns 27 later this month but should have at least another season of top-18 fantasy numbers in him at the running back position.

Smart move all round. Mixon has his critics he doesn’t hit the hole hard enough and crappy at pass protection but he knows the system and is a good outlet pass option for Joey B. Wouldn’t have got much on the market and the Bengals get to keep an adequate to good option that knows the system.

Joe Mixon was found not guilty of aggravated menacing in a county court ruling Thursday, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.

Per the report, Hamilton County judge Gwen Bender indicated that city prosecutors failed to present enough evidence to prove the aggravated menacing charge stemming from an alleged road rage incident that took place on Jan. 21. In a statement released by the team Thursday, the Bengals noted "the organization is pleased that this matter is now behind everyone...and we look forward to an exciting season with Joe being an important part of the football team." As the coming season approaches, Mixon is slated to lead a Cincinnati backfield that also includes Trayveon Williams (ankle), Chase Brown and Chris Evans

Can the league still ban him?
