Still looks fake to me. No pins or anything holding the paper to the board and the name plaque looks like an image edit added afterwards and if that is the size of the text on the enlarged version it would be tiny at the original size... the whole thing looks two dimensional instead of 3d.
Here's original screen shots taken from the channel 7 Sunday Night "Catching the Claremont Killer" that you've been referring to. :)

You can take this for what its worth , ive seen the whole picture of the half one being posted here , it was on another forum about the CSK
This picture was not meant to be of the CSK , if I recall at the time it was about other crimes in the area , there were identikit pics of two brothers wanted for rape I think

These guys TDB?

That's the brothers I was talking about , there were other identikit pics being shown at the same time on the other forum in relation to other crimes and im sure i saw the entire pic then … we will have to wait for our sailing friend to come back into the conversation , she can usually locate such things

The outskirts of Karrakatta are quite spread out and not as well maintained as the more central part of the cemetery. Visiting recently reinforced the idea that it could be a possible location. I'm sure I read that back in 96 you could drive down into the cemetery too. It's not nice to think about but going by his creepy social media profile and his interests in dark and twisted stories etc, not to mention his horrific crimes he's accused of, I wouldn't put it past him. Maybe we will hear more throughout the case of someone of the accused's appearance seen lurking in the area?

There was no chains or gates I am told

Thanks Melsy, this is a good close up and can assume it was someone they were looking for to help with their investigation at the time. Surprising how much it looks like the accused.

That would be interesting, walking around with a camera in a pub taking picks of strangers. Didnt someone say Carmel said they were strangers?

If it is a camera, you would think people would be onto it. Talk about stand out

When you zoom in (easier on a device) the rectangular outline is quite prominant. Looks rather large, almost as wide as his neck. Too big to be phone I think

I think this is a camera he holding infront of him with both hands. Doesn't look like a phone as ear is clearly visable.

I agree. Chances are that back in that time period it was not a mobile phone. I frequented the Claremont area in those exact years and mobile phones were not something that was ever seen in my circle of friends.

Yes, you could make an argument for it being the accused and having a mobile because he worked for Telstra but there’s zero proof that the blurry photo is somebody holding a mobile phone unless you already have that idea in your head.

That depends. It wasn’t that unusual for somebody to take a camera with them when they went out in those days. Probably more likely to be a female from my experience but how else do you think people have photos from those years?

Which brings us back to what i originally said, "It is a crop from a identikit picture that showed up in the background of TV show (Sunday Night) " as opposed to being off a board inside a police station.

Its basically a prop for the TV show , they would only have things on that board they could not careless you see , and sticking to what ive said already , it was not an identkit pic of the CSK

Maybe MM is one of the brothers from the other attack, which is why he never came forward?

There is no mystery man ... these pics were released 12 or 13 years after the event to look like something was being done
Do people really believe that everyperson standing in a pub / club tonight will be here tomorrow ... travellers do go home , and this one had 12 years to do so
Mystery Man is a waste of time and space that has led nowhere and will continue to do so ... it just creates oppurtunities for some peoples fairytales

After going through my collection of screen shots I found several more from the channel 7 Sunday Night doco "Catching the Claremont Killer"
This programme featured several displays or prop style crime boards.

First pic shows Det Ferguson central as the original head honcho of the Macro Task Force with surrounding articles relating to the CSK case.

Image1:

I realise I've already shared this image to back up BonzaRam's post, sharing the same view and opinion but wanted to point out the position/placement of cropped identikit photo on the board being between two yellowish articles "the danger zone map" and the "murder mystery list" (which includes photos of Sarah Spiers, Jane Rimmer, Ciara Glennon and what looks like an image of and the name Gerard James Ross?)

Second screen shot has Caporn as lead investigator of Macro but with the focal point being the murder of Pamela Lawrence and the controversial arrest of Andrew Mallard articles that have been arranged by video editing these articles to float/overlap the Furguson/CSK articles and cropped identikit in image 1.

Image 2:

Below, taken from image 2, If you zoom in and adjust the brightness you can see it's the same identikit.

The next screen shot, while the scene in the SN programme is still focusing on Caporn, using the visuals of the crime board, they bring forward a photograph of Pamela Lawrence and snippets taken from mallard articles revealing portions of the CSK articles behind it, including the cropped identikit but this time unveiling additional features of the face.

Note; I have adjusted the brightness.

Despite the article shadowing over the top part of the identikit taken from image 6, it's clear (from image 3) that it's one and the same imo.

Seeing more of the facial features of this composite sketch changes my view on potential similarities to the accused where as with the cropped image below showing only the hairline, forehead, eyes and dorsal bridge of the nose I could see quite a striking resemblance.

Even though there's been no photos of BRE from 95-97 released by the police or media (afaik) to compare it to, I'm inclined to believe and agree with those who think the person in this composite sketch, isn't the accused.

Nup, its straight off the board inside the cop shop.

I was going to suggest that it would be useful if the fibres on the board could be sent off for testing along with the clothing fibres, to prove once and for all whether the board originates from inside a cop shop.

But after the first class evidence provided by Sorbet Bliss this morning, I'm more inclined to suggest that the clothing fibres be sent to Sorbet for further examination.

So whose board is it Melsy?

Channel 7 Crime Journalist, Crime Writer, Private Detective, or Amateur Sleuth?
He has not answered one question regarding this point. He has avoided it as he knows he is wrong. Complete rabbit hole. Its his MO even back to his Dan Baker alias

As much as I'd like to think MM is BRE (and that isn't a phone or camera in the inside pic), it just doesn't strike me that he would be in the pub to try to take home a victim (I perceive him as a loser who couldn't talk to girls). Feels more like he was lurking outside as per his other MO lashing out in anger. I've not come across a murderer who used this MO against females.

I very well could be wrong though

IMO MM might be BRE but I doubt he was inside talking with these girls or even inside the hotels at all, otherwise people might have noticed him.

Unfortunately we may never know. Does WA have no body no parole laws? Only had three murderers deny their crimes in my experience, the rest have knodded to them
