Claremont serial killings trial: The 25 reasons why the prosecution says Bradley Robert Edwards IS the Claremont serial killer

The 25 reasons why Bradley Robert Edwards is the Claremont serial killer were laid out in WA’s Supreme Court today as Justice Stephen Hall began hearing closing submissions in the State’s trial of the century.

But absent from the courtroom was the woman leading the prosecution case, Carmel Barbagallo, who was clearly unwell and began summing up the case via a secure video link from home.

She said it was beyond reasonable doubt that Mr Edwards was the “assailant” as she detailed the reasons why Bradley Robert Edwards was the Claremont serial killer.

The 25 reasons why Bradley Robert Edwards IS the Claremont serial killer.
1. Bradley Edwards’ abduction and rape of a 17-year-old girl as she walked away from Claremont in 1995
2. He was working for Telstra at the time of that rape
3. Fibres found on the rape victim were from Telstra workwear
4. Mr Edwards worked for Telstra at the time of the murders
5. Fibres found on Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon were from Telstra workwear
6. At the time of Ms Rimmer’s murder Mr Edwards’ work car was a 1996 Holden Commodore VS Series 1 station wagon
7. Fibres found in her hair matched fibres from that make of car
8. At the time of Ms Glennon’s murder Mr Edwards' work car was a 1996 Holden Commodore VS Series 1 station wagon
9. When she was last seen she was talking to someone in a white Holden Commodore station wagon
10. Fibres found in Ms Glennon’s hair matched fibres from that make of car
11. At the time of the murders, Mr Edwards had a propensity to engage in sex attacks on females leaving Claremont in the early hours of a weekend morning
12. The three murder victims were all last seen leaving Claremont's nightlife district alone on a weekend morning
13. On the night Sarah Spiers disappeared, screams were heard in Mosman Park – near to a light coloured station wagon
14. At that time Mr Edwards was driving a white Toyota Camry station wagon
15. Ms Spiers was attacked in a way that caused her to scream in terror
16. Ms Rimmer was also attacked in way that caused her to scream in terror
17. A Telstra knife was found near where Ms Rimmer’s body was discovered in Wellard
18. Mr Edwards had a propensity to commit sexually motivated attacks
19. Ms Rimmer’s body was naked when found
20. Ms Rimmer and Ms Glennon had similar defensive injuries and neck injuries
21. Ms Rimmer’s body was dumped in a manner that meant it was extremely unlikely it would be found
22. Ms Glennon’s body was disposed of in the same manner
23. Ms Spiers’ body has never been found
24. Mr Edwards’ DNA was found on, around or under Ms Glennon’s left thumb and/or middle fingernail
25. Mr Edwards’ movements at the time of the murders are unaccounted for
