6PR 28 Sep 2020 - Wendy Davis interview

Vintage articles, one on the police looking for two men, one dressed as a woman and the FBI saying to look for two men as being involved in the murders. The third is at the Rimmer site where the police mention clothing items.

Vintage article where the kimono was held up by police and the Huntingdale attacks linked to the murder of Victoria Clarke in Victoria Park.

There was a gap in Edwards prowler offending between February 15 to October 8.

February 17, 1988.

Kimono clue to a brutal killing
by Cyril Ayris
This kimono may be the clue that helps
solve the brutal killing of Victoria Heather
Clark, 30, in Victoria Park last September.
It was dropped by a man that walked
into a Huntingdale house early on Monday
morning and lay on top of a sleeping
18-year-old girl...
The kimono is the first good clue the police
have been given in recent sex attacks in the area.
Det-Sgt Max Kiernan said the man
apparently walked into the house..."

The wording in the similar online article today is more comprehensive in the parts of the article that specifically related to BRE's Community Service Award.

'The City of Belmont is expected to strip convicted Claremont killer Bradley Edwards of a prestigious community service award granted to him in 2013 for his “tireless” work with the Kewdale and Belmont little athletics clubs.
Edwards filled a number of roles at the clubs, including president and chairman. He initially volunteered at the clubs when his stepdaughter joined but continued to be involved after she left.
In 2013, City of Belmont Mayor Phil Marks handed out the award to Edwards for his commitment and leadership at the clubs at a civic dinner.
At the time he said Edwards, and other award recipients, had consistently displayed community spirit through their dedication and hard work serving others.
“All our winners join the list of prestigious community service award winners and they truly embody the spirit of community,” he said in 2013.
Later that year, Eric Ripper presented him with a medal for a decade of service at Kewdale Little Athletics Club ....
....
City of Belmont chief executive John Christie said following Edwards arrest in 2016 the City removed references on its website to his 2013 Community Service Award, and removed his name from view on the honour board located within the City’s Civic Centre.
An officer’s report to council said as Edwards has been found guilty of the two murders and other serious offences, it is considered appropriate to withdraw the Community Service Award granted in 2013 and remove any recognition associated with being a recipient of the award.
Edwards will be sentenced on December 23, 2020.
Council will make a decision on whether to formally withdraw the award at its ordinary council meeting on October 27.
