I am not yet convinced re Shane. I would trade him now while he has currency, and get in another decent mid.

If Clark comes in, I'd trade Kersten out, and try and get another mid for him. I am just not sure Shane will make it. Too "inbetween" for me - but worth something in a trade I think.

If Beams goes to Brisbane as expected, then Pies midfield is going to be a rabble, now that Swans is on the way down and Ball is also gone, Pendles will be the only good player left.

Where as Crows still have a decent midfield, in fact, I think they have a top 8 list still, but can't put it together. So if Danger is leaving for success he could go to a better place then Pies, that are looking bottom 8 material.

IMO , Cats will probably cough up R2 and get R4 back or something like that. So 33 for Clark and 60 ish

Do that and then trade 60 for newton unfair on port but we can psd newton so use that leverage.

It helps us if melb dont have to use rnd2 on stretch as then they can trade it for lumumba and we can trade rnd 3 or player for clarke if their rnd 2 is gone they will push for our rnd 2 so they can ontrade it to pies.

Yep, right. I read it incorrectly. I thought that you were saying that he would stay at Adelaide for a little while longer and go to Collingwood at a later (unspecified) date, which makes no sense at all.

"Hey Lonners and Corey, we need you to play VFL for the next 3 weeks. Yes that might cost us an AFL game. But we want you playing a solid block next to Hamling, Thurlow, and Bews so that they can learn quickly. And learn from the best."

And then maybe there is another block where they do the same with Bartel, Kelly, maybe even Varcoe to help teach the kids how much running is needed.

I would throw away my membership if they did this childish rubbish. Our young players aren't 3 year olds.

Definitely keep Walker. He has shown enough at 21 to think he has got a future.

If we get Clark, for 2015, it will be obviously impossible for Hawkins, Clark, Walker, Vardy, Menzel & Kersten to all play together. Depends on how their form is during pre-season & NAB Challenge & you choose the best. My starting FWD line for Round 1 would be Hawkins, Clark, Kersten as the mains & Menzel as SUB. Then throughout the year have Vardy & Menzel play half a season of AFL to help ease them into it.

Maybe Clark could be back-up Ruck while Vardy plays as the 2nd Forward?
Maybe we play all Hawkins, Clark & Vardy in FWD 50 (tall I know) & push Kersten up the ground more?

I guess we'll know the MC's plans in Round 1 but in 2016, if no one gets injured *fingers crossed, touch wood*, then players will be unlucky but guess it depends on their form.

Well you are technically wrong already. If you have been saying that for 3 years , he has played in that 3 year period .. maybe only a half here or there.
I'm confident he will play. How good he is is another question. Like so many "stories" in the past , The club has invested in his story too much to not get him out there

Vardy, may never ....where does that come from of course he will play. Its a knee. The question again is will he finally get a run at it , or is he now doomed to an never ending run of interruptions like Simpson has had to endure

Yeah, but we didn't, we played Vardy because he'd overcome his hip problem.
It remains to be seen whether his knee will stand up however, a significant proportion of ACLs recur.

I'd really hope the club has done their homework and consulted the right doctors (ie a psychiatrist and not Bradshaw) about Clark. This is a massive risk as far as I am concerned as you really can't be too glib about mental health issues. There is a massive risk that he wont manage more than a dozen games before a relapse. You only have to look at the experience of Simon Hogan to see that managing depression is a life long struggle that has to come before football. He may be feeling fine and fit now, but just like anyone else he will have to come under intense pressure to succeed.
