clarke and his NSW mate

Seriously - it's not even a close call, Wade is the Test Keeper, the baton has been passed. It's just media speculation - otherwise it's time for a Royal Commission.

Here's a question for you - When Haddin and Nevill, both line up for Easts in the Grade comp in Sydney - who keeps?

I know the answer and it should indicate where the future lies.

I'm all for Wade to be the keeper. I think he is the future, But Haddin is currently doing everything right to be picked for the first test. If he had performed in the first test in Windies he would still be the Incumbent keeper. Chosing Haddin is not going to surprise me next week.

just because a bloke carries a few extra kilos doesn't mean that he shouldn't be looked at. Cosgrove he's a better batsman than some others who have been looked at in recent years, he just can't do quick singles that's all.
Cosgrove at the crease with Clarke or Hussey would be a liability.

This is it in a nutshell, Haddin is 35, the reflexes and coordination aren't going to improve from his last stint as Test keeper when he dropped numerous sitters. Can't afford to drop any against the Saffers... Amla, Smith & Kallis will make us pay dearly.

whilst its fair enough to label him fat, dunno if it's legitimate to mock his self pleasuring acts
cosgrove is a fat slob but is a cricketer with talent and is putting the runs on the board but will sadly probably never be picked to play for Australia because he isnt mates with Clarke or is not in the mold of what the selectors want. sadly rubbish like smith or Hughes will

haddin has had his chances and should never be talked about again, he is 35, a pathetic keeper & erratic and irresponsible with the bat had a terrible series against new Zealand and south Africa when Australia where in trouble he was out trying to play the big cover drive or dancing down the wicket and hit one over point. he has had his chances and its time to move on, whilst wade hasn't been brilliant he has been solid his keeping is still miles better than what haddin's ever was! his batting has been to he has stuck in when it counts as well, where as haddin still trys for the big shots.

where talking about players being picked the the national side not a c grade team in district cricket, there needs to be a distinguished choice between picking the better team & not just picking your mates, safely sadly Clarke, Watson & waugh do not relies this, that why the Australian cricket team is where it is!!

wrong, he wont get a look in because he clearly doesnt have the drive to. He knows, and has for year that if he was fitter and put in the hard yards to stay fit that he would get his chance. but he didnt and it shows alot about his character.

so you could say the same for Darren Lehman inzamam ul huq then? they turned out a good players but was over weight during there careers, perhaps it shows that what a talent crosgrove is and is putting the runs on the board with being as over weight and as lazy as he is? prehaps he is lazy with his appearance but puts in the hard yards with his cricket, at least he isnt to concerned with his hair looks like & having tatts on his arm & spending time on his knees playing with clarkes nob, eg haddin, smith hughes do

Pfft show me Smith and Hughes' tatts, crazy hair styles, or knob sucking skills.

Both are very young and hard working players who I hope can have a positive influence on the future of Australian cricket. Hughes getting back in the Test team is inevitable and I reckon Smith will have a very good limited overs career.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but Cosgrove's a whole other weight category compared to Lehmann and Inzy.

It could be worse

Darren Lehman had a FC ave of 57, Was a handy bowler, and only played 27 tests.
Cosgrove is no where near that good. I agree, the fact that he can score these good quick runs is a picture of what his talent is, he just needs to prove it more. if he slimmed down, looked more serious about an Australian cricket career, and kept scoring runs he would probably be in the side/knocking down the door. At the moment I would rather D. Hussey in the test side - because you know he wouldnt waste the opportunity.

@theFalconstrike, If haddin gets picked, expect the outcry south of the border to be loud enough to be heard over in Perth.

Cosgrove doesn't care, he is happy being fat and earning 400k a year playing cricket all year round. The only thing he is disappointed about is he won't get an IPL contract.

Looking forward to the Saffas winning here again if Haddin is picked. Next they'll consider Mitch too considering they've already decided on a rotation policy for the quicks.

Better get Steve Smith back in the team if we're going down that path. Need to drop Clarke and Watson too.

They were fat, Cosgrove is morbidly obese. I don't care how good he is, how hard is it for a guy in his place in a professional sporting environment to lose a few kg's. That 400k a year will pay for his long term cardiac health care at least.

Anyway thats off topic, Bad Haddin, Bad.

Bingo.

He's obese; which would dictate where he fielded, and would hurt whoever was batting with him - Huss/Punter couldn't take a quick single with Puddings at the other end.

He may well have changed since he moved, but having met him a few times in Adelaide, and knowing people who had a lot to deal with him - he was a complete dickhead.

Yep. That's the killer for me. If a batsman negatively affects the guy at the other end in that way, he is a liability.

Care to elaborate? Just full of himself? Pushes in in lines and things? I'm curious to know.

Makes us appreciate how special Gilly was.
