I'm not going to say he can't make it, but speed will be an issue. He also does not have much of a leap.
Since we don't have too many high draft pick, can't expect much I afraid, we need to build on what we have or possible pick. If we still depend on Sandi in 2018 then might as well signed Ross for 10 years.

Yep they get 3 first round picks for just competing.

So basically they have received another 3 first round picks because they have been given so many first round picks that they couldn't keep them all in the top 22 or under their more than any other club salary cap.

Poor bastards. Think they can bank on having these extra picks for at least the next 5 years as well.

Can't wait for the GWS got a premiership before Freo did jokes, logic will not be allowed in any response of course. Still I don't see the center of everything (Eddie and co) putting up with GWS winning each year for long time like a Hawthorn.

I agree it's a priority but in the list of priorities less than others. Sandi has already signed on for another year or two. Griff wont go anywhere (neither will Clarke I suspect, though I am voting for letting him go as a FA and just taking the compensation pick).

IMHO Johnson will be gone next year as will Pav. Whilst there are some waiting in the wings both forward and back I am reluctant to bet on Apeness, Collins, Ubergang, Hurley and Smith. To be honest none have played enough in the bigs to convince me and with the exception of Apeness were taken late in the draft. To this end an absolute priority is to get a convincing forward. McCarthy cannot be relied on as the sole forward (and we still need to get him). Do we think that a role can be filled by Tabs, Apeness, Hurley or an other. Once again being honest. Without showing a lot this year we will be in trouble next year. However, we are hamstrung by no second round pick. Would I let Mayne go FA if it got me a round 2 compensation pick. Absolutely.

We have to get McCarthy with a round 3 pick we absolutely cannot afford to pay more. We then need to get value out of a low round 1 pick and a second round pick (I don't care if it is Clarke or Mayne who gets this). If we want Hogan we will need to trade agressively. Our low round 1 pick for two later round one picks. And then we trade round 1 this year, round 1 next year plus some change for Hogan. That would leave us hope fully with a late round 1 and a round 2. Round 1 best ruck available (Goddard is a chance) and round 2 best KPD available. If we keep Clarke or can't/refuse trading our early pick, we till have to make a play for Hogan. Ruck recruitment gets pushed through to next year.

I suspect that there absolutely zero chance that all of our picks for this year will be used on tall timber, which is what I want. Last year I wanted a vastly different drafting trading strategy and was so disappointed in what we got. Not in the kids themselves (most seem quality) but that we were not aggressive in the pursuit of talls and moving on some existing under performers.

I really believe any talk of getting Hogan is a waste of time. We need to target some development players who are not getting games with their clubs. Target 2-3 and hope for one to work out.

I would trade Clarke in an instant and I have little time for Griffen.. Give Hannah a fair go and if he is not up to it we also need to look for ruckman from other clubs .

Fringe players to replace fringe players

Hannath did get us the vital draw against Sydney to set us up for road to GF2013.

Yeah he got us a draw instead of a win. He and Clarke both just stood there and watched Reid mark the ball on the line when scores were level. Thanks for reminding me

Reid, there was another one we were linked to at some stage. Seems to have regressed as a player with injury like Clarke has

Nah Hannath actually mark the ball on Sydney last attempt. That is before if he did not mark it we would had lost.

That bit must have slipped my mind. I recall him doing that against another team, might have been Richmond, can't remember it in the swans game

Swan i listen to radio , commentator keep mention Hannath like he won us the game but is a saving mark for a draw.

Good for him then, and if he had punched it through the bloody goal 10 seconds earlier it would have been a saving mark for a win

Like you said Clarke is the main men he let him do the job also Clarke run faster.

The players that they have this year in their academy is insane and the afl is looking.at equalization pfffft

He took an important mark against Richmond at Subi to ensure we got the W that same year too. I've been so beaten down by this year I honestly don't even care if Hannath plays anymore.

I don't mind Hannath knowing most probably he going to be delisted this year, but Clark knee excuse is just driving me crazy. Why don't we play with one ruck, we going to lost anywhere.

They have been gifted some absolute gun players courtesy of their academy this upcoming draft unlike Freo. Doesn't matter if they finish first or last.

It sort of does, because they still need the points through draft picks to be able to draft them. If other clubs choose to draft their academy players early, they'll have to use their Collingwood first round pick on one of them and they probably won't have the points to get anyone else - assuming their real first rounder is about pick 15.

It's still an unfair advantage

Why would Hannath be delisted, he's not on my favourite player list but at present he's better than nobody. RTB likes his game reckon he'll get two year extension.
Clarke has gone downhill since 2013 though the first half of last season he was very good but I think as a free agent he will now go home. At start of year I thought he would stay but he probably thinks he needs a new start, so that leaves Sandi (gun) griff (struggling) Hannath (back up) and IMO Appness will be the man when 100% fit to play the main ruck role after Sandi.
