Sandi & clarke will be the most dominant rucking combo in the comp next year IMO.Both will compliment each other beautifully.Where is going to leave griffo? I can't see griffo playing for FREO unless sandi & Clarke are both injured.

The chances of having all 3 healthy all the time and 1 being squeezed out enough to want a trade are slim you'd think. I wouldn't be suprised to hear if Clarke copped a real battering last night and maybe looking for a week off, if it happens or not I hope either Sandi or Griff can come in and give him a hand.

Make no mistake though, we really do need all 3.

He certainly ran out of puff impact wise. First quarter he had 8 possies, rest of the game he had 7 and I would say that 4 or 5 of those were in the 2nd quarter. That can contribute to a last quarter let down, especially compared to be Sandi who can run all day.

What we have at the moment is great. The problem we have, is that all of our 3 rucks could play as 1st or 2nd rucks elsewhere. If you were griffo would you like to be stuck in the WAFL knowing if you were at another club you'd be playing AFL week in,week out?

Great mark and great game. Based on his performanes this year he has surely earned a couple of years to develop. He won 26 hit outs and looks very capable in the middle of pressure and congestion which is ala Cox and very unusual for ruckmen who usually panic around numbers and pressure. Zac still needs to add 8 or so Kg's because he got whooped in the hit outs overall but with Sandi back he will surely keep his spot.

I love his tackling!

From Robbo's "whats hot" column in the Herald:

9. Zac Clarke

Saw in one game what Richmond's ruckmen haven't been able to do all season. Do yourself a favour, Tigers, and leave someone in Perth this week to make an offer to Clarke and/or Jonathon Griffin. Make it an offer they can't refuse because it would appear Hamish McIntosh is staying at North Melbourne, according to Brad Scott. Although he's not staying, according to former coach Dean Laidley. Don't think there is a lot of love between those two - Scott and Laidley - at the moment.

Yeah, he's starting to have an impact on games. I think he'll keep his spot once Sandi is back.

Perhaps the Harvey bashers might admit that the decision to play him as an on baller a while back, has done the trick?

Playing him midfield has definitely helped... Zac admitted as much in a recent interview. Think it's something Harvs needed to do to see where he could fit in the team. The obvious place to put the backup ruckman is in a forward pocket, but would have wasted Zac's running talents.

Having him able to run for a while onball and on the wing provides a couple of extra options that'll turn games in future. Glad Harvs did it.

Very clever instinctive handball. Great awareness, taking a hanger is one thing and yeah it's pretty & all that but it's great that his sole intent was to get the ball straight back into the forwardline and put as much pressure on the opposition as possible, great passage of play.

Nice little handball off to Mz right after the mark too.

Yeah, sadly though, Mz didn't follow team instructions. Based on everything else I've seen this season, it's clear that he should've contested the mark rather than staying on the ground. It's not his responsibility to take the mark, but he really should have spoiled Clarke's attempt...

Had to read this twice before I understood your point. The sarcasm remained invisible until the second read.

Definitely an area we need to work on. Didn't see as many examples of it as in the Hawks game, but lots of room for improvement still.

My bad, I should have used an emoticon/smiley.

Yeah, it was heaps better against the Saints. Particularly from kick-ins.

It's good but there is a better one on the first from half back where there is about 3 or 4 slick handballs ending up with Hilly who runs straight up the middle and hits someone lace out (can't remember the players involved I've been meaning to go back and look at it again). It happened in an instant and show why oppo teams rate stopping Hill so highly.
It's an 80M play in the twinkle of an eye.

Breaking news... Zac Clarke has a rising star nomination :)

Well done mate, nice reward for easily your best game in freo colours. Changed my opinion of you in one game.

I admit to being a Clarke knocker, or at least not really understanding how he's being used. If he can clunk more of those marks (a bit like 211 does at times) it dramatically interrupts the opposition's flow of play.

He's definitely improving. Well done young man! :thumbsu:
