You blokes have the best clash strip in the league, it screams Richmond. I've been arguing on the Main Board for the past fortnight with some about how they don't think it's traditional, blah blah blah. Well, now you have created a new tradition. I hope you keep it as your second jumper and don't revert to some horrid white thing, or plaster a cartoon tiger all over the front of it.
I hope we play in it everyweek !! It will forever remind the players of the premiership

I love our traditional strip and I love our clash/premiership. What I love the most is it’s our colors. No bullshit white guernsey or grey or another color that has nothing to do with the RFC. Simple and brilliant.

Well done RFC [emoji106]

Tigers

I've long advocated our away strip is WHITE shorts with a black and yellow sash - like the tigers of old. Call me traditional but that's the way I am.

On the afternoon of Sat 30 September 2017, a new tradition has started and a new era for our club ... as much as I love the original plain and simple - its time ...

Our strip should now become the one we wore the day we won the premiership ... to remind us of that win....

Well done team.

For me it will always be representative of the time we said **** you to everyone, and has now become a massive part of our history and culture.
Whilst the other mob were standing around worrying how they looked standing for an anthem and everyone else was laughing that we had to wear a clash strip, Peggy put it to bed almost immediately the decision was made therefore setting the general tone which was we don't care which jumper we wear, it's a Richmond jumper and we have a game to play.
And now... we have yet another tigers guernsey that the players, fans and club will always love with a passion whilst putting stupid bogeys to sleep and loads of money into Club coffers.
The perfect season in every way.

I found it really hard to look at and still do several replays down the track.

Made the whole game a couple of extra levels of surreal for me.

Big fail on numerous levels from the AFL and a big shame.

The only small salvation is that we've had much worse clash jumpers...they're all bad to me.

This clash jumper is historic, and as such should never change.

I was filthy on the AFL for making us wear the clash, but proud of the way the club handled it. Staying in the jumper post game. Turning up at the official after party, and the Family Day in the clash. It is now a part of history and the basic design shoule not be changed.

RFC_Official I believe you are getting feedback like this. Please pass it on.

Cheers, and Go Tiges!!!
I don't think this fact passed Peggy. They made the best out of the AFL's decision and have cemented this strip as part of RFC lore. If they'd changed it post match everyone would look back at the photos of the game and complain about the jumper, but by wearing it for everything we showed we weren't embarrassed to wear it.

"The yellow wavelength is relatively long and essentially stimulating. In this case the stimulus is emotional, therefore yellow is the strongest colour, psychologically. The right yellow will lift our spirits and our self-esteem; it is the colour of confidence and optimism."

Definitely the right yellow.

Puma have made an absolute steal with the deal signed at our mini nadir at the start of the season. I'm really happy, Puma is an internationally recognized brand and with our Indian expansion where AFL jumpers are relatively comfortable in the summer could be an unforeseen benefit. Their colours are very easy on the eye and bright compared to GWS and Geelong. We really stood out under the floodlights in our home kit and the clash kit had looked quite sensational under the sun throughout the season, even against Adelaide at AO in the twilight, we were immense in the daylight before the sun set.

I grew up in a city where football shirts as casual wear was well accepted and i really don't wear much else over the summer tbh. Indicated a certain part about yourself However, that a sport for the summer. I need some winter gear for a winter sport. However, i do like sleeves. The black one is a bit plain - that's the winter closet and some bright colour under a jacket would be some statement. Yes, the yellow long sleeve.
Even if it means avoiding stains of all kinds. Pizza. Wine. Ketchup. Dust but not dusty. Lasagna but not Castagna. I could go on all night.

I would even get two. I have so many autographs from players this season alone and there is just so much room for them with the yellow. I could even get them to autograph on my sleeves like an armcast. I never had that privilege as a child, but neither did a Richmond premiership happen then too and we already know some dreams do come true.

Personal plea to RFC_Official just for the third time: please make the yellow long sleeve happen.

Love the clash strip and join all the others in stating it should remain our permanent alternate jumper. I really want one. Can't believe they aren't stocking them any more.

Exactly my thoughts EJW, and made a comment to a Tiger mate yesterday. Was really shitty with the AFL, but my word it looked great on the day. Watching the Geelong and GWS games I did a double take forgetting that we wore the traditional jumper.

Keeping this as our permanent clash jumper is a good idea, but I wonder if Puma would be on board? I’m sure one reason clubs change clash jumpers regularly is because the manufacturers reckon they can make a bit of extra cash from sales of new gear. Not that sales of the Premiership jumper would be slow, but I still wonder if Puma would be pressuring for a change? And wondering what our contractual obligations are in that regard?

For the record: I now love this jumper. It will always scream two things to me: “Strong and Bold” and “2017 Premiers”!

It's one of the best in the league, hence it'd be awesome if Essendon did that invert for their away colours..

Apparently the AFL won't let you because red is not a 'light' colour.

These type of guernseys are a blight on the AFL, well done to your club too for going back to the 'yellow peril' as your clash. :thumbsu:

Teams like the Crows and Suns should really consider following suit.

Puma can GAGF if they want a change, this guernsey is locked. Dreamtime and pre-season are still there for different options anyway.

Was reading through the GF thread on the lolnorf board and one post jumped out at me, the poster was complaining that our clash jumper showed the jumper holds on us more clearer than if we were wearing our home strip which is black and might not show up from a distance for an umpire to award a free.

I actually think the clash played to our advantage in that the tugs on the jumper were clearly seen, those tugs on the jumper might've been called play on if we were in our home strip.

Need to add the previous years premiership winners to it. They'll be happy for the next few years ;)

Don't mind it for the home and away season. Would have preferred the regular jumper for all the finals, but ultimately, not going to complain too much because a flag's a flag.

That aside, I don't see why the clash issue is a big deal anyway. Who complained about Collingwood vs North in the 1977 GF?

Anyone know where the push to have clash jumpers came from? I don't recall there being complaints from fans about jumper clashes.

Bloody Carlscum....lol
