No... he thinks he's standing up for the Collingwood brand, as he has always done.
Please note that as a result of him being so adamant about keeping that brand during his tenure as president, if it was required collingwood could just as soon pay your club enough money that they would happily wear their clash jumper, home game or not.
There is a reason Collingwood manages to flourish in a crowded market, and it's not blind luck.
It's all nonsense anyway, first, if you can't see the difference between horizontal stripes as opposed to vertical, I sure hope you haven't got a license, second, as I pointed out the two teams can look significantly different on the day without stupid clash jumpers simply by putting some thought into it.
With a name like Imfabs I'm a little doubtful on your integrity to put one plus one together, oh wait, look in the mirror and count your teeth.
The so-called 'brand' of the club is the magpie, that is your logo. The strip doesn't have much to do with your club, in fact it was proven on this forum that the Pies jumper has never always been the black and white stripes. If I were you I'd take a look at Manchester United, who own the book of branding. The own a plethora of uniforms for when they play opposing clubs from all over Europe, great for the brand, on a global scale.
And in direct quote to your argument of stripes vs hoops, yes that is the case, however both the players and commentators had problems in the last game, so where does your argument stand?
Collingwood flourish in a crowded market ?? I think it is a little more than just a 'brand', it is a simple demographic. Same goes for Richmond, bigger area to gain a supporter base, more people equals more supporters.
The AFL should set more stringent policies in place so Collingwood has to follow the correct suit, have a more appropriate 'away' jumper as they haven't, in this season specifically, earned the right to wear their home jumper.
And yes, I hold a license, I also hold a few others. It is simpletons such as yourself that listens to the ridiculous rhetoric spewing from the man of many chins in McGuire, and totally believe it.
