Our midfield, sorted into types/sizes, and in order of importance as midfielders(arguable).

Small Inside: J Carr, Haselby, Bell, Schammer, Cook,
Big Inside: Crowley, ?Solomon, Dunn,
Outside/Receiver: Black, Headland, Peake, Mundy, ?Johnson, Macca, Drum
Taggers: M Carr, Dodd, Walker

Big Inside mids is the concern for mine. We need some big improvement from Dunn, after possibly his first uninjured time at the club, and/or we need Solomon to perform in the middle from time to time. Also Crowley needs to take his game to the next level, apparently he was following Voss around in Ireland, lets hope a bit of Vossy rubbed off on him, its exactly the style of play we need from him.

That will be where M.J. will shine even brighter.

The biggest inside / outside Mid, ever. :)

Undersized midfielders (<180): J Carr, Bell, Schammer, Cook, Macca, Black,
Small Midfielders (180-183cm): Hasleby, Collard, O'Brien
Medium Midfielders (183-188): Peake, Crowley, Webster, Headland, Smith
Utilities (>189): M Carr, Dodd, Johnson, Mundy, Drum, Duffield, Dunn, Solomon, Foster

Webster is big but not as mobile as he once was. Peake plays a bit in the middle and is tall but as skinny as a rake.

Looking forward to seeing if and how Chris Smith goes - seems some of the Queenslanders really rate him as a tall midfielder.

Oops i forgot Webster. The other one I forgot was Duffield. Just watched a replay of the round 6 derby from last year, and he looked pure class. The disposal under serious pressure was sensational, and to me looks mobile enough for the midfield.

Ysaye, you're confusing me. Smith??? From the Rookie list? No Browne? No Ibbotson? Was glad to see you had Duffield in there. Would be a possibility to rotate into the midfield at some stage. And there is also Gilmore. He needs to find a niche if he is gong to remain on the list and be a serious contender, and the role up for grabs is tall midfielder.

Like a few posters here, I tend to think Schammer is the perfect replacement for Belly when he retires, and rate Schammer very hightly. Team balance-wise, however, if Haselby is fit, I tend to think we have 1 too many small midfielders, and too few bigger mids. If Schammer's illness is as bad as is being described in another post, and his replacement is a Drum/Dunn sized midfielder, I actually think our midfield looks a little better balanced, assuming Drum/Dunn can step up to the class required.

Yeah I forgot Browne, Ibbotson and Gilmore.

Ibbotson and Gilmore to the Utilities, maybe add Mourish to that too.

I should almost add Collard to the medium midfielders as well - given that the website is 182.4cm (For comparison Riccuito is 183cm). If he can develop the endurance to play midfield full time with more bulk on his body, he could be a serious contender for elite status, as he has brilliant skills, evasion, speed and acceptable height. Not to pump him up or anything :)
