Hopefully the rehab goes smoothly, he could be a shot in the arm in week 10 when some of the kids need a spell after the vigours of professsional football

I thought it was going to be something bad like this when i saw him make his way off the field at half time. Had the boot off, wasn't really limping on it, but walking slow, but there was no strapping or ice or anything on it. Figured it would have to be a break or something for them not to worry about ice.

End of the day, he just came back from a 12 month injury, he can do 8 weeks standing on his head. He will bit fit and firing for the pointy end of the season.

The 22-year-old is expected to miss about eight weeks, continuing his horror run with injury.

The Lions' 27-point pre-season loss to the Swans was just Beams' second game back from a knee reconstruction.

Brisbane football operations manager Dean Warren said the injury was a disappointing setback for Beams and the club.

"Claye spent the majority of 2013 in rehab for a ruptured ACL so, understandably, he's devastated by this setback," Warren said.

"We are certain that the resilience and absolute professionalism that Claye has displayed throughout his previous rehabilitation, will get him through this tough period."

Listed as a "test" for this week which means he could line up for his first game of the year in the reserves. I can't wait for him to string a few games together in the reserves and start to demand senior selection. His accurate kicking, run and carry, and experienced body will improve the side in the second half of the year. This second half of the year will hopefully set him up to have a breakout year next season.

Looks good when he gets it but not getting it that often. Probably still a bit behind in his fitness.

Agree, in the past one of Beams strengths has been his spread from the contest and ability to present an option upfield. Was one of our better players doing that. It will come back once his fitness builds back up.

Just needs some continous footy so he gets a chance to build on his game. He has been at the same level for years simply because he ends up sitting out too much.

Plenty of talent, ive always liked his ability to find space and have a crack at goals.
