I don't live in Vic so don't really get as much news media about these things up here, and tbh I haven't really cared enough to go looking for updates about some guy from a team I don't follows hammy.

However, I can't say I've seen any footage of him limping/running lame. Even that footage of him arguing with the trainer it looked to me like he was running fine. Maybe not at top speed, as was reported, but didn't look laboured at all. I can't recall any footage of him looking lame. Is this also true for those in the middle of football land?
The issue reported from the club was getting to top speed. I can only assume he was limited with getting to top speed without tightness. People are reading too much into this when I’m reality the minuet has been horribly mismanaged by the club. Oliver himself has never had soft tissue injuries to my knowledge and is a massive competitor so was possibly not being totally honest with it all too.

I’m hearing Essendon are sniffing around Clarry … and are planning to use the Parish compo pick to try and land him.

And surprise surprise the negative articles have started on Clarry.
Can’t see him playing at Melbourne next season.

Sam Mclure still believes he's going to Carlton.

I love a good stat. But no one in their right mind would argue they seriously think Melbourne are better off without Oliver. Makes a great story though.
Jimmy Bartel also explained other players in other areas of the ground have stepped up in that period. Such as Bowey and Kozzy. Which has impacted Melbourne’s overall performance.
The midfielders have also stepped up in his absence. Which is great and gives us more options heading into finals and beyond. We might also see Trac spend more time forward as he has been at times over last 5 or so games.

Sounds about right if rumours are true about his off-field behaviour and Essendon's well know issues off the field LMFAO

Melbourne reportedly open for offers.

I wonder if this adds more fuel to the fire regarding off-field 'issues'

Surprised the clubs not getting around him and supporting him through his issues.
Just palming him off to the highest bidder isn't the way to do it.
I'd be very surprised if the club don't come out and show their support for him today.
Generational player.

Be interesting to see if any Melbourne supporters have a foot fetish and can detmine if he had a new foot tattoo in the mid part of the year.

NGL I genuinely thought the way everything happened that it was 2nd strike related but have heard now that the infected blister was the result of a foot tattoo after he initially injured the hammy, which then completely messed with his ability to properly do rehab on the hammy.

That's the extent of what I was told, but would be interesting to know what impact an infection in the foot could have on a hamstring recovery. Was either pushing too hard or simply bad luck with circumstances that caused the longer setback with the hammy tho.

Hope he is right for finals as he is an absolute gun, regardless of support having guys like him on the park in our biggest games is what we want to see.
Nostradamus!

I just don’t buy the whole suspension thing. Everything else, sure, but if you know what doesn’t draw attention to itself & is fantastic PR? Business as normal.

Suspending him for 10-12 weeks as a “3rd strike” but not announcing it because it’s bad PR is just the dumbest thing ever - of course it’s gonna draw rumours and questions?

I can fully believe the AFL covering up 3rd strikes, or just testing in a way to not find them especially in star players, yep 100%.
But suspending players (as if they care about drug use) and then covering it up (because they care about their image more) doesn’t make sense.

So, I reckon Oliver truly had a bung leg, and just didn’t approach training in the way he should have. Every chance he was probably out taking drugs during his injury time - I’m not saying that’s unlikely.

Oliver wants out of Melbourne is what I am hearing. Told them at the end of 2020 to improve the way they do things. They haven’t and he’ll be leaving the club. That club is turmoil.

If he had that discussion in 2020 why would he extend for 7 years in 2022. Did we improve the way we go about things then go backwards?

Premiership success. Coming off a flag. He’s close with the clean living Petracca

Told them end of 2020 to do things better. Not much better than winning the flag the following year.

I think if he’s leaving it’s club led not Clarry led. Sounds like he’s not meeting standards from what’s being reported.

He told them to improve yet can't stay off the drugs himself.

OK.
