I just hate tweets like that, put your money where your mouth is and give us a name
He might've been tipped off that Browns were in the race for Thomas, but yeah, this is what people always do, they don't spit it out just in case they're wrong (which happens often) and then people ridicule them or cease to listen to them.

Thomas to Ravens was apparently not likely. Then it happened tho there were more likely suitors.

Need to hand it to Dorsey!

The Browns hype may be out of control, but this team is definitely ascending. Personnel-wise, its difficult to find a better set-up:

* Supremely confident sophomore QB coming off a great Rookie year.
* Great OL play.
* Productive talent across the skill positions.
* A dominant Edge.
* A few more productive Edge and DL.
* A very good cover Press Man CB.
* A good coverage LB.

That is a very good recipe in the modern NFL (or any really).

Now that I've had a look at the players we got, it's looking like a pretty solid draft. Never going to have the same impact as last year, but we got some good young depth in key areas. Got some nice speed and physicality in Takitaki and Redwine, something we probably missed a bit last year - particularly at linebacker. Wouldn't surprise if Takitaki and Wilson are in line to replace Kirksey and Schobert in 2020.

And obviously Greedy is looking like great value, fit in nicely across from Ward.

Nick Saban predicts Freddie Kitchens will do “great job” with Browns

Nearly 20 years ago, Browns coach Freddie Kitchens worked for former Browns assistant Nick Saban while Saban served as head coach at LSU. As Kitchens takes over an NFL team of his own, Saban offered praise to his former employee, explaining that Saban saw the potential in Kitchens.
“Yeah, because to me Freddie was a good teacher, he’s very smart, very bright about football and he’s the kind of person that I think people see he’s authentic in terms of how he comes across to people, players can trust him, believe in him,” Saban recently told the Elyria (Oh.) Chronicle-Telegram. “It’s no surprise to me, because he did a great job for us. I’m happy for him that he’s got the opportunity he’s got now, I think he’ll do a great job.”
Kitchens arrived at LSU as a graduate assistant after a year at Glenville State College in Saban’s home state of West Virginia.
“He does things to help players get better,” Saban said regarding Kitchens. “In my time in the league, if you do that, players are never going to be an issue or a problem because they know that you can create value for them, and I think Freddie’s always been able to do that.”
Whatever Kitchens can do, he’ll be facing plenty of pressure to do it in Cleveland. The Browns have the talent and the expectations, and if they fail to meet the high bar that has been set for them, it likely will be Kitchens’ fault.

Odell Beckham: I plan to turn the Browns into the new Patriots

Odell Beckham is optimistic about his future in Cleveland.
Beckham told GQ that he believes he can win multiple Super Bowls, and that the Browns can succeed the Patriots as the best team in the NFL.
“I plan on being there for the next five years and trying to bring as many championships there as possible,” he said, “turning [the Browns] into the new Patriots.”
Beckham is particularly excited about playing with Baker Mayfield, whom Beckham sees as perhaps the best quarterback in the NFL, after just one season.
“I would say he’s next, but I feel like he’s now,” Beckham says. “He’s Brett Favre—he’s going to be a Hall of Famer.”
The Browns have undergone a remarkable transformation from the laughingstocks of the NFL to a team people legitimately think could win a Super Bowl. They may not be the “new Patriots” just yet, but no one should laugh when Beckham suggests it.

  • NFL.com's Mike Silver reports "several veteran Browns" approached Baker Mayfield about his Duke Johnson comments and "registered their displeasure."
Both Mayfield and coach Freddie Kitchens were searingly blunt with their Johnson comments after the back held out of OTAs but reported for minicamp. A coach is one thing, but a player, especially a young one, throwing a teammate under the bus during a trade/contract dispute is indeed an unusual look. This is not going to be the first time Mayfield provokes with his comments. He does not possess the filter that most other modern athletes are ingrained with as they come up through their respective sports.

  • NFL Network's Mike Silver reports the Browns' transition to new OC Todd Monken has "not gone as smoothly as planned." Per Silver, this has "resulted in coach Freddie Kitchens playing a greater role in spearheading the offense than originally intended." It's eye-brow raising after Monken earned an in-season demotion from the Bucs last season despite putting a ton of yards on the board. This always had the potential to be a volatile situation after Kitchens revived the Browns offense then earned a promotion. We'll see what happens in training camp.

How awesome was the new episode of building the Browns. Offense played better compared to the last one, noticed a morbid Freddy though when LT Kalis let someone through which affected the throw, just something to look Out for that LT position during training camp. With no Zeitler now who steps up? Why wasn’t Corbett getting the reps..

Potentially good news for Sheehy with Calloway to miss the first 4 weeks, opens up a roster spot. Just seems unlikely that a team will carry a return specialist with the increase in touchbacks. I think he's destined for the practice squad, particularly when you factor in waiver pick ups.

I had a go at predicting the roster after yesterday's game...

QB (3) - Mayfield, Stanton, Gilbert
RB (2) - Chubb, Hilliard
TE (4) - Njoku, Harris, Charles, Brown
WR (5) - Beckham, Landry, Higgins, Willies, Strong
OL (8) - Robinson, Bitonio, Tretter, Kush, Hubbard, Corbett, Lamm, Forbes

DL (9) - Garrett, Ogunjobi, Richardson, Vernon, Smith, Thomas, Avery, Lawrence, Coley
LB (6) - Schobert, Kirksey, Wilson, Takitaki, Taylor, Armstrong
CB (5) - Ward, Williams, Mitchell, Carrie, Gaines
S (5) - Randall, Burnett, Whitehead, Murray, Redwine

ST (3) - Colquitt, Seibert, Hughlett

That leaves 3 open spots. One will definitely be at RB, I think we'll sign a free agent or see who gets waived as opposed to going with a rookie. Sense they'll want vet in the mix without Duke. The other spots probably come down to WR Ratley, OL Kalis and DL Ekuale.

Haven't been on BF for ages...Chris Scott's pathetic performance last night brought me out of hibernation. So, instead of bleeding like a stuffed pig on the Geelong boards I've come here to my favourite team in the entire universe...Monday 3am I will be watching and super hyped.

Here's how I think they'll line up on both sides of the ball.

Offense (plenty of swagger O)
QB - Shake and Bake
RB - Chubb-a-wubba
WR - OBJ
WR - Jarvis
WR - Hollywood
TE - FIGJAM (Njoku)
LT - Robinson (though Lamm will take snaps)
LG - Bitonio'
C - JC
RG - Teller or Kush (50/50)
RT - Hubbard

Defense (scary D)
LDE - Garrett
LDT - Larry
RDT - Richardson
RDE - Vernon
WLB - Dog Check (Kirksey)
MLB - Schobert
SLB - Avery
LCB - Ward
SS - Burnett
FS - Randall
RCB - Mitchell

Result Prediction
Browns 27 - Titans 10
