Biggest joke ever? Bullshit. SavRocca just won the Geelong Cup and payed $20 on the tote. My little nibble of 10 each way as payed for my weekend. Quite content I must say.

In all seriousness though, what the **** were North thinking? A big dud is sav these days.

Makes me feel better. Thanks coach.

Maybe someone else at the club will now be taunted by the 'beefcake, beefcake, BEEFCAKE and fat arse jibes'

Calthorpe, Olarenshaw and now Sav. You've got an eye for talent Denis.

Given that Rocca is slow, drops easy marks, has the agility of a blue whale, is inconsistent, has NO ground level skills whatsoever and takes 5 hours to turn his body in a 360 degree circle, why would they want to draft him ????????

Oh sure, he'll have a big game every six weeks, or so, but where's the value in that ?

More recycled crap from the Kangaroos.

Hmmm! Last time I checked, Sav Rocca had posted over 500 goals. Pretty hard to fluke that many, especially considering Collingwood haven't been travelling that well over the past few years.

Denis Pagan also has a good record of picking up rejects and making good out of them. I think I will defer my judgement on this issue until the end of next season. Sav may yet have a bit to offer football.

Clearly Sav was past his use-by date at Collingwood. Having him as the focal point in attack hasn't worked for about 4 years.

Personally, I think Pagan must have rocks in his head ... but then Pagan is a dual premiership coach and I'm just a mug spectator.

So, if Pagan can resurrect the Big Sav's career good luck to him ... and to Sav for that matter.

Just our luck he'll play two good games a year ... and they'll both be against us.

They might have change Pagans paddock to Pagans farmyard with a cow in the goalsquare.

Seriously though I bet Pagan turns Rocca into a half decent player.

Have to agree there Happy Hawker,

I reckon Sav will have a solid (if not great) season next year. About 50 goals would be a fantastic return. IMHO, he'll start great guns, but whether he can continue that form for the whole year will remain to be seen. Along with Wakelin, Carrol and Pike, if he had of been available at one of the later picks, I wouldn't have minded havng him drafted to us.

With superstars such as Oleranshaw,Rocca and Colbert,North are changing there name from the KANGAROOS to the KNACKEDROOS !!!!!!!

North will need to employ more medical staff just for those 3 .

I can't wait until Rocca and Carey crash into each other in the forward line.Won't Sav be popular then ?

Savs destroyed the Bombers on more than one occasion Dan (and a few other teams as well) so id be careful what id say.

As someone pointed out, you dont kick over 500 career goals without SOME talent. Now its up to Pagan to see if he cant extract it. Still i gotta admit, i dont give him much hope of doing so, but again i think i might reserve full judgement until about round 12 next year to see.

Obviously big Savs got a bit of talent, granted.

He did thrash Dustin Fletcher a few times in the mid 90's when Flecher was a beanpole, but Fletcher is now probably the best defender in the comp. To say he's improved a fair bit is an understatement

Roccas average of just over 3 goals a game, masks his deficiencies. He is either hot or cold and if things aren't going he way, he rarely turns it around. Like I said above he is terribly slow and cumbersome and will never be the 80 goal per-seaosn player he was touted as back in 1993.

He is a big lumbering dinosaur. He one asset, is that he can kick like a mule.

JUBJUB,

North may well be knackered as you say. Thern again I would be happy if the Tigers were knackered and made at least the preliminary final avery year (plus 2 premierships). Pagan rejuvenates players to often to be a fluke.

Don't concentrate on his 2 - 3 failures, but on the many successes.
