That's the thing, It really acts as an energy store rather than a source. Presuming you get it from electrolysis, which almost none is currently. The vast majority comes from natural gas and is the only way to do it cost competitiveA new source of energy to replace oil and gas. What's not to like? There's a few issues that need sorting though.
Pain in the arse to store, smallest molecule, gold lined lead tanks is apparently the best almost leak proof type. Ends up cracking steel and aluminum. Energy intensive to liquefy. Only way it really works(outside niche stuff) is on demand production, we'll see
