Climate Change Arguing

A new source of energy to replace oil and gas. What's not to like? There's a few issues that need sorting though.
That's the thing, It really acts as an energy store rather than a source. Presuming you get it from electrolysis, which almost none is currently. The vast majority comes from natural gas and is the only way to do it cost competitive

Pain in the arse to store, smallest molecule, gold lined lead tanks is apparently the best almost leak proof type. Ends up cracking steel and aluminum. Energy intensive to liquefy. Only way it really works(outside niche stuff) is on demand production, we'll see

The amazing thing is the rusted on national and liberal voters in the country are seeing this playing out first hand, they must hate us latte sipping urban voters with a passion to not be a lot more concerned than we are.

Yet is sky news based in the country? Do they even go there? ABC does.

Now they are blaming the BOM for their forecasting.

They are to invested in it being a woke conspiracy.

It just how bad the previous government was… we’ve had the worlds worst engines dumped to us, because they didn’t have an energy policy. We still sell crappy 2 strokes…
I still to this day do not understand how the Liberal party fell for the culture wars and landed on the wrong side of all this.

Once we got rid of local manufacturing of cars, a fuel standard should have been a given.

But it appears anything even slightly resembling climate change mitigation was a no go.

When the former heads of nearly 25 fire fighting agencies lobbied the PM - Morrison - to release 11billion in federal funding to lease fire fighting aircraft "now" (ie then in May 2019, ahead of what we all knew was gonna be the worst fire season in our history) Morrison refused to on the grounds it seemed to be surrendering to climate change propaganda or some such bullshit.

That spring there were multiple opportunities for those aircraft to properly stop fires that managed to break containment afterward and went on to kill people and damage property. I used to think Tony Abbott was bad (still do) but there is no way he would have done that. He would have released the money when the experts asked him.

Deputy PM Michael McCormack called them “pure, enlightened and woke capital city greenies” and "inner-city raving lunatics". Some of these fire chiefs were volunteering on the fire front at that time.

What absolute vermin he was. Words cannot express my hatred for that man.

He is a bigger climate denier than Morrison. Taking preventative actions against increasing threat of bushfires was seen as giving in to climate alarmism by the right.

Yeah true, but Abbott would have also listened to people who once out ranked him in the RFS.

Not many people know this but shortly after he was elected as PM, during the 2013 fires, he spent an entire day sitting in a fire truck in his brigade shed waiting to be called out to a fire but no one in the relevent FCC wanted to call him out cos he was the *en PM. It wasn't his job to sit in truck any more except in extreme emergencies when he was there and no one else was available.

Everyone in the RFS knew what was coming that year.

Morrison refused that request because of the optics of it potentially supporting the idea climate change and he has no idea about what happens at a fire. I on't think Abbott would have cos he at least understands the concepts of fuel loading and lack of moisture in the environment.

Anyway its all speculation. There are people who are dead cos of that decision and they didn't need to be.

Fell for it suggests they don't understand how its being used as a tool to divide voters

pretty sure they got sold on it by US lobby money as a way to maintain a power base

its why the same play book gets used around the western world by every conservative party and media outlet

they're all on the same train
