Still waiting for an example of another country that is going down the path of wind and solar...

Why don’t you put a big diesel generator in your backyard if you love fossil fuel so much?

Do you think that would be cheaper than solar panels on your roof, with battery storage?

Did I even say that?

I actually prefer the nuclear path like most other 1st world countries are taking. Far less wastage than wind and solar, far less new infrastructure needed and since we supply most of the world's uranium, if we develop our ability to enrich it ourselves, then we have total control over our own, emission free energy supply for the future which is most affordable for everyone.

So you want the most expensive energy generation possible, to make things affordable?

Make it make sense.

Also, if we dcide to go the nuclear zombie path, we can keep using fossil fuels for a few more decades, and keep the LNP paymasters happy.

Maybe because we do more with crude oil than burn it?
Well it's mostly burnt but in general this is a great problem with our oil based society.
A barrel of crude is pretty set on what proportions go into petrol, diesel, jet fuel, bunker oil, bitumen, propane etc

If say you converted all cars to electric but still required some diesel and jet fuel, the only result is cheaper petrol, not less emissions.

A big factor in why everything is(or wrapped in) plastic, It's essentially a waste product from refining oil and as cheap as chips, virtually impossible to make recycled/bioplastic compete on price with virgin

Being decommissioned faster than they're being built. Even nuclear countries are shelving plans as solar and wind come down in price.
You've really got to go all in and probably 50 years ago if you want nuclear. Need enrichment, warheads, education, industry, workforce, workable and refined designs to make it worthwhile . Can't really get that done in a few years and other nations aren't to keen to share. Maybe subs is the backdoor.

Not even to mention uranium is a finite quantity itself, nor waste issues. Thorium/breeder reactors aren't commercial and those SMR shills have gone quiet as the prototypes failed to produce advertised $/kW

I’ll put forward some CSIRO evidence against your IPA propaganda.

I reckon we start a rumour that that the Australian Nuclear Industry has started calling it Jan 26 and offered a different day off.

The irony in receiving this is very enjoyable. You created a new account, purely just to be called Greta Thunberg.. to respond to posts only related to Greta Thunberg 😂… and on Christmas Day. I ain’t the one with the problem.

Please, for your sanity, go and enjoy your Christmas day. Merry Christmas.
I'm more concerned about Greta supporting north. Talk about taking away her childhood!

Who knows, but if there were a buck to be made in Nuclear you'd think he'd be on it.

We seem to be getting told Nuclear is the way by certain politicians, rather than anyone who actually has to drop the cash.
Nuclear is old technology and on the nose. Hydrogen is new technology and subsidised. Huge profits to be made if it comes off.

Fossil fuel is also heavily subsidised and I daresay if someone could make a even remotely reasonable case for Nuclear it would be to
Businessman talks up his own book. I hope he's successful and can produce hydrogen in commercial quantities.

It's certainly a big focus by a lot of companies.

You get the feeling it's mainly because they can charge people for the input though
A new source of energy to replace oil and gas. What's not to like? There's a few issues that need sorting though.

FFS we’re doomed. The country is experiencing the most extreme weather events in my lifetime and the best the politicians can do is bend over for Gina & argue about the right of Australians to buy cheap disposable Chinese made, faux patriotic crap in supermarkets and that’s all the media reports on.

The cognitive dissonance of being alive and seeing the world continue to pretend we can just burn petrochemicals forever . . .

I feel like a freaking crab in a pot of slowly boiling water.

It's cursed knowledge when you really see how cooked we are
