Yeah, protesting on behalf of Reindeer farmers in Norway, or making the trip to Ohio. I wonder which would get the most attention...
Me thinks you're intentionally avoiding the inconsistency here.

Advocate for environment, yet protesting against a wind farm (good for the environment) - yes for good reason.

She's damned if do and damned if don't.

Oh I'm aware that people will criticise whatever she does.

I said in my first post on the topic she is showing nuance, not avoiding anything. Nuance obviously something that others (not you) are incapable of.

My response here was to someone somehow suggesting that protesting for reindeer farmers in Norway, would get her more attention, than if she jetted across the world to Ohio, where the US Media would go into overdrive, particularly the likes of Fox, Daily Wire etc who have an unhealthy obsession.

Are you suggesting that if someone doesn't comment or act on every single instance of something occurring, that they don't care about the topic?

Because that would be an incredibly dumb position to take.

It’s amazing how all these mature conservative men get so triggered by Greta.

Bunch of snowflakes.

I think it's fair speculation that she would have more attention in the US over a climate topic vs reindeer in Norway topic. I'm also totes not surprised that this story has reached worldwide.

Bad news = click bait.

Notice, how the media paints this particular story in the headline as 'she's protesting against wind farms - inconsistent!'

So yeah in element, yeah it's inconsistent, but the 'protect the land for the indigenous' is missing from the headline.

At least she's not throwing paint on windmills, they have paint protection right?

And we’re supposed to wait around for these guys to fix climate change?
No but people that dont care about this as much as the borderline cult do are somehow evil for acknowledging anything we do is not only negated by them and india but completely undone and ruined?

We arent "fixing" **** all. We are barely throwing a deck chair off the titanic. You might think thats worth the hundreds of billions we have and will pour in. Many others would say there's better ways to invest. A pretty reasonable response when discussing things with normal people. Climate activists are anything but reasonable...

We arent "fixing" * all. We are barely throwing a deck chair off the titanic. You might think thats worth the hundreds of billions we have and will pour in. Many others would say there's better ways to invest. A pretty reasonable response when discussing things with normal people. Climate activists are anything but reasonable...
So what’s the plan then?

Okay it’s 2024 and the loony cultists have gotten off their collective high horse and no longer judge, or even confront the people who say it’s all too hard. Carbon emissions and the temperature anomaly continue to rise.

What now?

So what are those other better ways to invest? Haven't heard anything solid from anyone that is definitive in making a difference to scale.

There isn't a plan, not a definitive one anyway, a buy in by all and sundry - which is required if human kind is serious about mitigating climate change.

Personally I don't think anyone has an answer in the immediate term coz there isn't one.

Sorry I should have added text under the article, I would have typed - how on earth is this still allowed if the world is supposedly on the same page?
The world isn't on the same page, and that's half the problem.

Seems the only concern is the here and now to 'keep the lights on'.

How does China keep the lights on if they don't build new coal fired power stations? Would they just Solar up for 1 billion people? Is there enough resources on the planet to do that?

All good questions. I guess we do have to worry about the now as well whilst transitioning.

Fossil fuel cultist simping for billionaires and their taxpayer funded subsidies.

How involved are the CCP in the actual profits for those mines? Is there an economic incentive in it for the individuals involved; not the country being in need of power, but the people in government and government business using the excuse as a method of lining their own pockets?

Is it actually cheaper to open the mines, or is it because it's the easiest means of semi-corrupt (or openly corrupt) personal enrichment via insider trading and conflicts of interest?

It's an interesting dilemma to solve - how to convert to renewables when cheap power drives development - but I think it's just as interesting that when considering this that the capitalism of it all isn't really considered.
