I just love this.

You're on you're way home and some dickheads block a major intersection for a few hours and you're stuck in the traffic jam because of the... protest.

Yeah...and you're sitting there waiting and cheering them on.

Like f*** you are.
I'd be smart enough to use Google Maps and find an alternative route.

Yes, of course you would..

Because a dickhead like you would know beforehand where your mates were going to block normal peoples regular way of life.
Your opinion and one I couldn't less for.

At least I'm not the one sitting on BigFooty on a Friday night cause I got no mates to sink piss with.

Loser.

That's fine, but you are still here on BF espousing an opinion. Yeah?

In the meantime, if your mates were blocking traffic for some opinion you disagreed with ...you'd be there, in the traffic....completely happy with the inconvenience...and cheering them on.

Peanut.

Could I please have your address in order to block your driveway please?
You can block my driveway no problems.

Your problem there will be I don't actually need or own a car... so knock yourself out.
Yet here you are
At 3.30pm. Whilst getting paid. And soon to log off and enjoy my weekend.

But it was good of you to jump in and white knight for cravo's honour. Bravo sir.

Here's an alternative question. What gives people the right to deliberately inconvenience or disrupt other people's lives without permission given to do so?
None really but throwing people in jail for slowing down traffic sounds completely overzealous and such move correlates closely to a police state. Which is interesting because LNP voters - and their worldwide equivalent - have taken the self proclaimed mantle of being pro free speech and libertarianism, but in reality it's pro free speech and libertarian for myself and others like me.

It's worthwhile thinking of other instances where there are traffic disruptions across cities and we don't bat an eyelid because they are government sanctioned and/or for what most, or all, of society would deem worthy causes. Why does the AFL Grand Final have the right to disrupt traffic across Melbourne? Just because it has the government tick of approval?

Wonder what these geniuses would think of people marching on Anzac Day being locked up for "deliberately inconveniencing or disrupting other people's lives".

This is a imbecile argument. Are you sitting on Bigfooty at midnight 'cause you got no mates to sink piss with'? I just got home on a Friday night an hour after you. Does that make you a loser?

People are in different timezones round Australia and the world. People work different days or different hours of the day. People are at different stages of their lives such as having a young family or are older so that the Friday night piss up no longer appeals.

Cravo wanted to have a go me first. I'll happily bite back.

Yeah. Great comparison. I shouldn't expect much more from you really.

But in answer to your question, the difference is that they have approval to do so. Pretty simple...

There has to be some sort of order. That's why we have laws.

Are you honestly comparing the AFL Grand Final to an unlawful protest?

Your problem there will be I don't actually need or own a car... so knock yourself out.

Your personal situation aside, the protests might prevent people meeting family members, partners, friends or children at the designated time. There could be a degree of stress at not meeting these times - or for parents with kids in childcare, considerable expense.

I agree that people should not be locked up for protesting. But from a moral point of view what makes a few dozen people think they should be able to inconvenience hundreds of thousands of people going about their business?

I don't understand why the police don't just come and disperse the protestors by whatever means necessary, whether it be horses, water cannons, tear gas, or whatever.

Because this isn't a police state
