I was more talking big as in impact on everyones lives at the most basic levels. Its the excuse used to privatise all water, food and energy supplies. Climate change is a naturally occurring phenomenon, however the idea that a few hundred ppm co2 can radically alter temperature and climate is a nonsense.

The use of a small efficient Diesel Car, ( Ford Fiesta or similar ) probably has a similar greenhouse footprint as an Electric Car charged off the grid in Victoria or NSW. In fact if you hooked that little Diesel up to a generator its probably cheaper than buying solar/wind from the grid. You are far better spending your money on lots of solar panels and powerwalls ( loungeroom wall is a dumb and gimicky place to keep a battery IMO ) and maybe a backup generator if you want that feelgood factor.

People always focus on cars and forget about the energy footprint of manufacturing. Green's should avoid Apple products like the plague after they got busted forcing redundancy on their products so they would be thrown away and new ones purchased, but they seem to be remain popular with the hypocritical greens.

Meanwhile what the planet really needs to make people comfortable is temperature stability.
And the reason its been stable for 12 000 years or so would seem to be pure dumb luck. Do we really think this stability is permanent?

What i'm seeing however is that small scale generation is becoming more efficient, to the extent that the costs associated with power generation and transmission may not be worth it.

Example : PV Solar farms ( as opposed to Thermal solar power ). What is the advantage of putting Solar Panels in the desert, then selling the energy at a profit to a retailer, who then pays for transmission to ( say ) Adelaide and pays for backup storage with the worlds biggest array of Tesla batteries , then sells it at a huge markup to the householder , if the householder can put those same panels on his roof, buy a backup battery and even an efficient gas generator for those cloudy weeks.
There is no economy of scale with such installations. Its merely purchasing power of buying a lot of panels in one hit.

Advances in computer technology and electronics, mean that inverters, direct injected small engines, power management ,sun tracking are all becoming within reach of individuals. We are getting closer and closer to saying "Get **** AGL and SP Ausnet "

We control the weather with air conditioning and weather proof/resistant dwelings/buildings, all facilitated by the effectiveness of fossil fuels.

I'm pretty sure 100% off the grid building plans have existed for 15yrs+....so all new CBD developments could be off grid projects and any unit complex etc.

The whole point of this is a wealth transfer scheme from western nations to "developing" nations, where all these international conglomerates pay little or no taxes and labour is dirt cheap. The implications of geoengineering have been discussed for decades. Anyone with eyes can see the spraying. Edward Teller discussed the idea of spraying the atmosphere with metallic particulates like aluminium, barium, strontium etc as a means of combatting "climate change". Do you drive on roads? Have you ever been to a hospital? You must have gone to school. Well my friend this is all because of the State. The world has not collapsed. Depends on the molecule. 500 ppm of Co2 could raise the Earth's temperature by 3 degrees. We're now over 400 ppm.

Is it the idea that such a tiny quantity could have such a large effect that you find hard to fathom?

Here's an analogue. Hydrogen Cyanide is deadly to an adult human at 357 ppm. Death would take under 2 minutes.

Extrapolated over the globe a mere 357 ppm could kill most life on the planet.
