Clint Bartram Humble Pie Thread

We were spoilt with the Wrecker, Bartram has his stopping ability but not his creativity and disposal.

At this rate, a worthy understudy though.

Just got off the phone to Clint*

He's read the thread and said the pie better contain concrete, broken glass and nails otherwise we are all weak as p***!

I've had my doubts he'd make it, like Rude I'm probably not 100% sold long term, better make mine a generous portion.

*flat out lie

I've always loved Bartram, but I too have doubted his kicking ability. Glad to see that his efficiency has improved out of sight.

No pie for me though. I've never call for him to be dropped from the side. :D

Anyone not eating humble pie must have been watching a different Clint Bartram for the last 5 years.

Just to clarify Im happy to be eating the pie myself.. :)

Not really, the main problem he had (and still sorta battling with it) was his poor decision with his kicking and the occasional off shoot of his kick, the occasional off shoot has remained but he is getting better at it.

The decison making is the thing that has improved 10 fold which was a huge chance of it happening, he just had to mature.
He has always been a kick arse tackler.

..and his inability to gather consistant posession talleys, plus his inability to create attacking movement and generally penetrate the opposition.

Anyway this is a positive thread for Clint - Im just pointing out that he has improved out of sight recently.

He will be a non-scummy Steven Baker in the future.

When he gets the ball, he will get by most times and just do the basics, but his main priority is shutting down his man and doing 1 per-centers.

As Bruce Macavaney said: "He's a tough little ombre." (Imagine bruce constapated saying it at well.) Also note not sure if thats how you spell it.

Premiership sides are built with all types, not just superstars. You need Junk Yard dogs, who work hard, can scrap and get the job done week in week out with-out fanfare. Blokes with a heap of prick in them who do what ever it takes to get the 4 points. We are starting to get a few of them with McKenzie, Bartram etc starting to really develop. All credit to him.
