Clint Bartram

Not so classy of late.

Dodgy ball drop when he kicks it, and seems to get run down a lot for a player who is reasonably quick when he gets going. Yet to return to his '06 form.

He'd want to finish the year well.

Re: Clint Bartram.

do i see the beginning stages of a name change to Bartram_notsoclassy?
Or just do what I did with Yze_Class and pick a better, classier and younger player.

Yes you Cale.

Re: Clint Bartram.

He never has been classy, he's been tough, determined, hard working, and pretty quick, plenty of our initial forward posessions from the backline come through barts. His kicking isn't too bad, if you're hanging it on him this week I think its because your just looking for someone to have a go at.

Sadly not, I think he's been poor for a few weeks now. Especially his kicking, tends to blaze away and if you watch him, has a very poor ball drop.

Plenty of work to be done if he doesn't want to drop behind CJ and even Petterd when they are fit again.

We're aspiring to build a premiership list. Whilst Barty is a very honest goer he lacks too much class.

He's a depth player at best as the side evolves.
Haha, you've both lost your minds, his disposal efficiency was up around 80% today, and he gets to a heap of contests and covers the ground better than most in our team. What you couldn't hang shit on Morton, Buckley, Bell or Sylvia so you went after Bartram.

As for the premiership comment, look at Hawthorn there is a heap of room for bloke like Campbell Brown and Osborne who make up for their footskills with attack on the footy and the man.

Re: Clint Bartram.

They are only opinions masterbate.

Sorry for pointing out holes in a team sitting 3-17. How silly of me.
Yeah it's all cool, but every week we seem to get a thread about how one of our younger players hasn't been up to standard, it's becoming Richmond style eating our own, and it's starting to shit me, especially after we just won our 3rd game of the season!

Re: Clint Bartram.

I wouldn't go as far to say that he played well today, but he was solid and it was definitely his best game in the last 5-6 weeks. I've been all over him saying that he should be dropped for the last 2-3 weeks, but i was happy with him today.

Today he had equal highest number of disposals for the year (19), highest No. of kicks (12) and highest supercoach score (96) which gives you an indication of impact and effectiveness.

Is it just me or does he have an uncanny resemblance to junior now that he's got a shorter haircut?

Re: Clint Bartram.

I know what you're saying BC, but I find it strange you bring it up today when I thought he had a very good game.

I'm with BC here thought he once again just went today & is down on his 06 form. Still luv the bloke but I reckon Petterd has his spot in the team for 09. Won't mean much, because Bell is behind both of them despite doing nothing wrong today.

Ducked his head embarassing at one stage today, with no pressure whatsoever.

That wasn't the tough, uncompromising Bartram we knew in 2006.

Spot on!

Statistically he may well be on the pace but my gut feeling is that he hasn't been as good this season. I expected him to continue to improve but he's stagnated a bit this season.

High expectations aren't a bad thing in my book.

Well he is a tagger, and i don't expect him to get 20 odd possessions a game. As far as i could tell he played on Fletcher, and he did absolutely stuff all, so i'd say Bartram did his job very well.
