One of my favourite players over the past couple of years, I've loved his work ever since we snagged him from Geelong. Has been an awesome player in the backline. He even rang me last year about renewing my membership. Except...

I don't really think he's been the same since he got his face smashed. Hasn't been as damaging. Hasn't been quite as effective. The reason why I'm posting this is because I had an eye on him on Saturday, for instance (and whilst this certainly isn't typical of his game), he stunk it up big time whenever he went near the footy. And I mean the opposite of Midas, everything he touched turned to complete shyte!

I hope the Biz isn't past it, isn't too old. I'd love to see him come out against the Swannies and rack up 20+ creative touches. My personal belief is that he isn't, and the pressure he and the other backs were under last week as a result of the total absence of midfield pressure would have caused any backman to wilt. Ditto last couple of weeks.

Thoughts?

First two and a half years he was absolutely sensational. Since he had that facial injury he hasn't been as good. Hopefully it's just confidence and he can return to being The General that he once was.

I think the emergence of Rivers & Ferguson has limited Bizzell's influence a bit. I 2002 he competed so well at CHB but we were never going to progress with 6 ft 2 blokes like him & Robbo in key positions. Perhaps the injury has affected him, although I'm yet to see him shirk anything since. He's not in the play as much lately, opposition teams drag him out of the play a bit too these days.

I'd still like too see him thrown forward in a shock move soon to really shake things up. While he was never a consistent forward at Geelong, it'd be great to see if he still has the magic.
