Let's get some speed into this team and play one if not two of these boys...from all reports both of these guys are really pacey, and i remember watching atleast Benjamin in the U18s and being impressed. How much better does Essendon look with their new young aboriginals Davey, Jetta and Dempsey (not to mention lovett who's out of the team at the moment). We know our forwardline is weak at the moment and that is partly because we have very little in the small forward department besides Betts who I wouldn't say is anywhere near the likes of Chapman, Milne, Didak, Medhurst, both Daveys, Mark Williams etc. Shouldn't we be putting one of benjamin or anderson alongside eddie and just give them license to run???????

I don't think either of them are small forwards, are they? Isn't Anderson more of a back pocket/flanker and Benjamen a winger?

If we want small forwards, Houlihan or even Judd might be the way to go right now...

If we want another forward with goal sense, it's Houlihan.

Anderson is more of a negating defensive type and Benjamin is more a wingman type player.

Anderson would be closer to selection than Benjamin. However, I was very pleased with Benjamins game last week. Plays a similar type of game to Paul Bower. And his kicking has improved out of sight since last year.

I'm pretty excited about Benjamin. As far as i can hear, he has heaps of raw talent, and just needs to work on his kicking. but as HBF said, his kicking appears to have improved a lot.

HBF do you reckon Benji will get a game before the split round?

In fairness to Benjamin, he has worked hard on his kicking over the preseason and it appears to have improved immensely.

As I said in another post I think Ellard and Judd should be played up forward. Both are ball magnets and use the ball well. Personally, I think we should line up like this up foward:

Betts (or Ellard) Fisher Kreuzer

Judd Fevola Edwards

Bring in Bentick for the midfield and if needs be rotate Bentick for Judd.
This only a temporary solution until Judd gets back to 100%.

I would rather give Armfield or Browne a go ahead of Ando and Benj, but nether the less, i would love to see those 2 on the park. From what I've seen, army is a real tough nut who loves getting into the thick of things and Browny from all reports, has been a shining light in a few of the practice games. No doubt Anderson will get a run soon but rather then pace, we need someone who's tough and wont act like a princess around packs. Come on down Browne and Armfield

When is everyone gunna wake up to the fact that our forward line is a problem because it relies totally on Fevola who lets us down 80% of the time. Is body language is still pothetic. He will never learn. Put Wiggins at Full Forward. Drop Fevola to the Ants for 4 to 6 weeks.

Why wouldn't Clint be there next year?

Saddington, Wiggins, Ackland, Russell, Hartlett, Bannister and Blackwell will get the chop before Benjamin.

Are you planning on drafting deep into round seven of the draft?

I'd cut a Jackson and Armfield before Clint.

Great to hear. We really need some speed in the team. Hopefully Benji can get a few games in the upcoming weeks.
