Fact is that Collingwood have shown interest in Young, everything else is just a guessing game.

And again from the Herald Sun today:

FREE agent Clinton Young faces the toughest decision of his football career this week - staying at Hawthorn or chasing a fresh start at one of four other interested suitors.
Collingwood yesterday re-affirmed its interest in the 26-year-old Hawk playmaker.

Roberton won't be addressed before Dawes is sorted, one way or the other. I doubt it's linked to Young.

Many of these articles are just a regurgitation of what has been reported during the week. We know he has been offered more money by hawthorn which naturally will make him reassess his options. His options being leaving for the pies or staying with the hawks. Nothing new on this front.

Its the weekend guys.

Expecting anything of note or taking guys with 20 posts as gospel around any player at this point is a waste of time.

We will know by early next week what the go.

well would appear that way but they most definately asked after him and were advised he was more likely to go to SA if he leaves. My understanding is they are still in touch but SA is the likely option or he stays at Skoda. Surprised by Pies conclusion as i watched him first hand for a lot of the year and he was easily in the top half rucks in the league. GWS want him to stay as Gubby and SOS rate him and he is a top bloke but they have such bad salary cap space they have very little room to move. They also know if he goes they have few other options for the senior ruck spot. Notwithstanding, they know they will have to write some pretty big cheques shortly and they just cannot over commit. They are also keen to get in a few more senior bodies this year so look for guys like Surjan, Silvagni, Lonergan Salopek etc potentially land there.

I know Clinton Personally and Wanga has said he would rather stay at hawks as he is a loyal person and likes to repay his faith to the club and yes The club embraced Brother Lachie and allowed him to run on the ground with wanga made 50 and 100 games. Point being Wanga has been around afl for a long time now and he deserves that pay rise. His 26 now and his not getting paid the amount he should be from Hawks. Collingwood have great facilities and are willing to pay him more money and better facilities and 22 games a year how can you say no to that? Its not always about loyalty though Look at it this way if you shitkicker at mcdonalds and cook burgers for 15 dollars an hour and then some guy comes along and offers you 25 dollars an hour more hours and closer as well would you take it? Of course you would.

Clinton is a allround great guy and great footy player. Clinton has gotten a offer he cannot refuse and his 26 and may have 3-7 years left of footy so why wouldnt you take the extra money as he will benefit from it later on in life.

As for the person who said something about Doggies edging out the Dees for Dawes, the earlier the pick, the better, I'd rather pick 20 than picks 27 and a second rounder, unless Hine believes someone will slip through the cracks to 27? But even then, we aren't going to bother with a late 30s pick if we have three in the top 20, will we?

Doggies traded 27 for 21. So it is 20 V 21 not much difference and I think the Club would let Dawes pick his club if both those offers were on the table.

Depends on whether Melbourne will use that pick 20 on someone we've got our eye on. I know it doesn't seem like a massive difference, but it could be if Melbourne want someone we know is going to be a gun around that pick.

Dave - since October 2009 you have had 21,000 posts. Thats 3 years obviously and it equates to smack on 7,000 posts a year, circa 580 posts a month or 20 posts a day. Mate that is good going when you think about the fact we don't even play for half the year. I suspect ever since Clint Young came along you have sent the average up a gear or two as well......who would ever have thought Clint Young would have this impact on your life. Imagine if he actually plays a good game for us....or worse still he doesn't come at all!

Cant say i am immune.....for some odd reason I am finding this whole thing quite enthralling.....
