With Watson, offered a little more money at GWS and guaranteed game time amongst kids his age. Also Steve Alessio (Essendon) is his uncle and played during Sheedy's tenor at the Bombers so Matthew has some deep respect for Sheeds on a more personal level (I think Matthew was even a bombers supporter as a kid) so he hasn't been too hard to sway.

blues get at least for 5 yrs a Power Forward that we crave

magpies get a ruckman they crave.

sure we loose 4 yrs in age but we need a Power Forward.

That might be a worry as I think he is our number 1 ruckrover. Can he beat the best tap ruckmen - still find it a worry that he counterpunches in the centre bounces waiting/looking to see what the other ruckman is going to do

The Collingwood-Carlton issue is a complete non-story if Carlton had the cap room to offer Cloke. He's a restricted free agent. If Carlton offered him more than Collingwood could match under the salary cap, which anyone who signs him surely will (the Pies wont match because they couldn't do it under the cap), then Collingwood lose him and get compensation from the AFL.

Apart from Murphy I would suggest any player on our list would be a fair swap for cloke.

He would immediately be our best or second best player and provide someone to build a side around.

Why would we be interested in a player who's quite happy at the club his father played for but is being shopped around by his manager?

Not worth matching any offer Collingwood would refuse - we have existing players that need to feed their families.
