Science & Mathematics Cloning extinct animals

A Megaladon would be pretty cool and shouldn't be too hard to clone if some DNA were found.

There is way more to it that just finding DNA of the species that you want to clone. For a start you need a perfectly preserved full sequence of the target DNA, which is a lot harder than it sounds. It would be a little easier if living cells were available - not possible for extinct species.

The difficulty of the science involved is one thing, but the prohibative costs and ethics would also be a major roadblock.

just because we can, doesn't mean we should.
it would be great to see these things that we read about in books but i think that they are now gone for a reason.

^ lol. "Shouldn't be too hard to clone". I assume you are not familiar with the difficulties in cloning! Or that complete, intact DNA will probably never be found.

Well I did state, " if some DNA were found"?!?

After that it is just a simple process of splicing Megaladon DNA in to a bunch of White Pointers and then strengthening the bloodline.

If DNA were found (and it won't be), that's step 1. There are so many other hurdles to overcome. We can't even get cloned sheep to live to the correct age.

But you seem to be a troll now, so...
