Just saw Cloverfield, and it evoked memories of an old favourite of mine, Neon Genesis - Evangelion.

Yeah i thought Cloverfield was also about a sexually ambiguous boy who gets inside a living clone of an angel and controls them somehow to fight other giant angels sent by god that don't even look remotely anything like conventional images of angels. Also i distincly remember the giant skyscrapers in Manhatten sink a thousand metres underground when the monster started ****ing the city up.

Ill be honest, i was hoping an Eva would come out and stomp on Cloverfield during the movie... it was fairly lackluster.
