Bold indeed...and with good reason.

Talk is cheap Dee Snider:D.

Watched a very strong performance by the Friars last night. After an inaccurate first quarter with the breeze the Friars strangled Bulleen-Temp in the second quarter and then smashed them after half time. The 5 goals to 1 into the howling gale in the last quarter were a pleasure to watch:).

Marcellin too strong for the Dragons, who didn't stop trying all day. Marcellin's big bodies just too physical for the fleet-of-foot brigade from box hill. but, give them a couple of years to build up skill level, and Box Hill could be a force in the clubbies (or D4 seniors if they wish to go in that direction).

you're right, we were man handled a bit by the Marcellin boys...partly because few of the boys lack the experience of playing finals and the intensity required, little shell shocked after the initial excitement wears off...second quarter against the strong wind showed that if game plan not followed to our advantage then the bottom can fall out quicker than you think...Dissapointed that season came to a stop yesterday but we're confident that we will grow next year and give it another good shake...thanks to all that played against us, we've and I've enjoyed all the banter and the contests...see yous on the park in about 7-8 months...don't forget to give me a hoi when you're organising praccy matches next season, Dragon's will always be available....cheers:thumbsu: My tip for the GF...Marcellin Vs Friars with Marcellin winning by a kick...

On Friday night's form I can't see Marcellin beating Whitefriars JP.

The game was a very even first half but was all over at 3/4 time after the Friars became the only side to use the howling wind properly. Too experienced and too good for us throughout the 2nd half.

Still we live to fight another day and cannot wait to take on Marcellin to earn another crack at it.

Well done on a good year with the Dragons mate, your guys were a credit to themselves. Unfortunatley we won't be locking horns again in 2008 as Dee will be hanging up the boots for good. Best of luck JP:thumbsu:

Come on Dee, at least don't make the decision until next year!!! who knows when the Autumn comes and the fresh grass smell is around again you will get ichy feet and pull them on for another crack...good luck mate...

Looking forward to watching a close game tonight!!

Will be an even contest i think!!!

Who will earn the chance to play the FRIARS in the almighty Grand Final next week!!!

Time will tell....................................................

I hagve to agree with that point Son of a Gun!!

Last week i saw Bulleen play scared football and run away from a contest. And again last night i was witness to dismal school boy football from a team that clearly does not like a hard contest!!

Looks like the two stronger, physical and better teams will fight it out next week!!!

Good luck to both teams (Whitefriars and Marcellin) tonight. Hopefully a good hard contest and no injuries to anyone. The experience of both sides was too much for the under 21s of BT come finals time.

Will be interested to see the result.:thumbsu:

ok Dee
so who will win?
you have seen them both
give us a tip and by how much

Yep have seen them both close up..(although I buggered my shoulder and missed the prelim last Friday so not sure about the current make-up of my old side Marcellin). When we played them during the year they were very average, but perhaps they had a bad day.

Would have to select Whitfriars as they are an evenly balanced side with a good blend of tall, small, and have plenty of experience. Just wouldn't want them to get too arrogant (until about half way through the last quarter anyway!). Depends on who uses the wind but would anticipate a 32 point margin to the advantage of the lads from Donvale.

Would really be an injustice if Whitefriars lost..but finals footy is a strange beast.

Thoughts???

you make some good points Dee, and it will be an entertaining game i am sure.
you are probably right in saying the Donvale boys should win if justice has anything to do with it, given they are unbeaten. but who knows?
Marcellin are sure to be full of confidence having had 2 good wins coming in. Whitefriars did beat Bulleen pretty well in their semi final.

we will find out i am sure about 9pm tonight
