My imaginary source tells me it’s JPod

My other imaginary voice tells me it’s definitely Darren Glass
Be unusual for Darren Glass to accept it given only a little over a month ago he was announced as leaving the Hawks to take up the role of WCE's new list manager?

People and Culture is just the modern corporate buzzword for Human Resources, and prior to that Personnel Management

No doubt, however, this role just sounds like a specialist HR person, or someone heading up a HR department.

I would expect the appointment to be external and be someone who is currently in a senior HR or HR Director type role.
Preferably someone with proven experience in turning around an organisation that had lost its way in personnel terms. Our club had player retention issues to begin with and the recent debacle has done massive damage. Like the banks have been saying since the Royal Commission, the Adelaide Football Club needs to rebuild trust.

I'm sure Jenny is highly, highly qualified but when I hear her speak it reminds me of Trigg.
A confident speaker who talks with an air of expertise and who left me feeling like I'd listened to a Tony Robbins seminar.
Plenty of self importance, motivational buzzwords, key indicators, collective reasoning and "happenstance." It's sounded profound but there was never any substantial information in the answer.

The head of leadership and culture should be the facility manager at a new club room where players and supporters can mingle together to experience what a football club is suppose to be like. Much like the old shed days.
A beer, a feed and a place to gather.
That will bring about a change in culture and bring everyone closer together.
Many elite players here in SA access her services individually. I've spoken with several who have all said that she has made a 'substantial' difference to their performance through her support. The woman knows what she's doing. Look at her influence over North in the SNAFL last year.
She can sound overconfident and certainly Mark's abrasiveness (or overconfidence?) seems to limit his AFL opportunity but both are nothing but excellent supporters of people.

Jenny has written a book which is not 'other people's stuff'. She's a highly intelligent woman, who has also coached, very successfully, at the highest level in MULTIPLE women's sports. Give credit where it's due.

She taught me lacrosse many years ago.

I’m amazed at her reinvention, because I wouldn’t let her park Fagan’s car

I think it's slightly different to the typical people and culture role you see in organisations which are as someone has said a typical HR role.

I think the leadership component will be alot stronger and you'll see alot less of the typical administrative task of the HR like roles. They will also be expected to both model leadership behaviours and values aligned to the culture they are looking to develop and implement a plan of how to implement these things at the AFC.

This sort of role only really works when there is alignment in purpose and values through the organisation. Culture is something that grows organically whether you like it or not. The purpose and values are one of the few tools you have to guide the culture and steer it in the right direction. It's important to break down values into simple expected behaviours to make it crystal clear what is meant by them.

Putting someone in place and not addressing these things is a complete waste of time in my opinion.

Best post in the thread.

It’s not that. This will be a support for helping players in a very high pressure competition. More than a beer and a laugh 🙄

Well said. It's easy to look at the job title and say "well that's what they call HR Managers these days" but I'm fairly sure the review team didn't say "you need an HR Manager" as part of their findings on the performance of the football area of the club. There are things about leadership and culture that are different in sporting clubs from other organisations and I'm sure this is what the position is aimed at.

Every time I hear her speak she's offered nothing new and nothing I haven't heard before. I'm sure she's very capable, but I haven't heard anything that would make me think ýep gotta have her'.

I like what she has to say most of the time
