The poll here, despite probably being quite unreliable, suggests otherwise.
And if the punters don't care, they wouldn't care if it was changed back to the old style either.

We are not representative of the common Richmond supporter

Most are not members, most are not that engaged

We see this with AGMs . Polls here always had the incumbents being massacred, and when the vote came the challengers were essentially ignored.

We are the tip of the spear, the fanatical feral tip, but not the whole

Regardless, even if say 10% of the membership wanted the old song back, and 90% couldn’t care less, surely it makes sense to bring it back

I’m sure everyone hates it. I don’t even feel like singing it now. We have a much better version to play. Just swap the cd please :greenalien:
Agree. I hate the sound of it. I don't feel like singing it either.

I know it's only minor, but I legitimently hate it. It's the worst thing that the club has done in the last few years.

Thank you for your email and sending through your feedback around the song.

We’ve got the best song in the league, no doubt, but the version of our song being used at our games up until now has included an incorrect lyric – “risking head and skin” instead of the correct line – “risking head and shin”. Over the last 6-7 years the Club has received a huge amount of communication and feedback from our fans, pleading with us to correct the song. Some in the media, including Club Immortal Kevin Bartlett, joined the call to correct the song, therefore the feedback has intensified over the last few years.

We have been investigating ways of fixing the song, with the final recommendation from the experts being that due to the quality and format of the original song, it would need to be re-recorded.

Our song, like the rest of our Intellectual Property (IP) is owned by the AFL, therefore we had to engage with them in a bid to correct the lyric. After a few years of lobbying, the AFL agreed to undertake a project to fix the song and in doing so, discovered there were at least 6 other clubs whose club songs had incorrect lyrics (must have been a big day in the studio back when they were originally recorded!). Therefore, the AFL put the offer out to all Clubs to re-record the songs, of which, 15 Clubs agreed.

Working with the AFL, we engaged KB and our very own Matthew Richardson to get involved in the re-recording of the song.

So in summary, our objective was to correct the incorrect lyric in the song, whilst maintaining the overall integrity. We believe this has been achieved.

Thank you once again for your email and your loyal support to the Tigers.

this is the clubs response to me regarding the song its bs

Ask them why they couldn’t maintain the integrity of the song by leaving it alone and changing just the bit that was wrong

Sorry i care and all my mates who attend games with me care as well, shocking what they have done to this iconic theme song. Sounds childish and has lost some of the power & magic.

I don't doubt you care, but

- I don't hear jack s**t on this issue on aw or Sen, and haven't for months

- they are still singing this song before and post game at the g where I sit. There is no great protest boycott happening

This is a nothing issue.

Sorry, disagree. It has lost some of its power, sounds more comical & "airy-fairy". Must be changed back. Must be bought up at our AGM at season's end.

Thanks for sharing, what a horrible response. There is nothing wrong with the dubbed version from sound cloud and that was an amateur. They really have bottled this situation, and given supporters a massive slap in the face for not getting feedback before doing it. Disappointing

Will continue to bump until it’s changed back / improved.

The current version, legit blows my mind how poorly it’s been done. If you cannot tell the difference and you’re over; say, 15 and attend the footy, then I don’t feel like you’re a true Richmond supporter.

The new version is horrible.
