I reckon you could a bit more blame on the ******* players lol. Bowlers including our captain sh*t the bed a couple times and the batting talent in australia is the worst its been in atleast 40 years

The selections were abysmal that series and half the reason we lost regardless of our weakened batting.

Several things are clear.
1. Post Bangles Tour, the players had had enough.
2 JL is capricious and sometimes bizarrely punitive.
A cool headed tactician and strategist, he is not.
3 It is agreed he steps back from coaching. At T20 WC he did not attend at least some training sessions. Other coaches step up. Same for Ashes.
4 By end Ashes he is little more than a non coaching coach.
5 Surely he realises this and that it is humiliating to be a figurehead BNG on nearly a $1.0m pa. Nope! Instead he wants a long term contract to keep being the bloke with a title who has little to do with the team. It is this I find to be so remarkable.

Langer isnt the sole selector and what magic changes would you have made to improve the team

He isn't and that is why I blame the entire selection panel, but the buck stops at the coach, a lot easier to get rid of the coach. In terms of players, perhaps not pick tried and failed players to replace the batsmen. Just an idea, and Renshaw would have been one I would have picked. I still don't forgive Langer replacing Renshaw with Finch of all players

Again what magic changes would you have made that would have indisputably swung the series in our favour

Renshaw opening for one that is the easy one. Go from there. Almost thankful Langer is gone so Renshaw actually gets a chance again.

Cause I wanna be clear here, we would have beaten India if a guy who averages 36 at FC level had played..... an thats the sole reason to sack Langer

Harris at least, or any other bat we tried that series. Bloke showed he can bat at the top level.
averages less than 30 at FC level the last 3 years. Cant score against Tasmania but apparently would come in and tonk Indias pace attack around.... right.

Unlike the alternatives already had a test hundred...and showed he could bat overseas.

He'd at least value his wicket and has scored big runs at the top level. Biggest mistake in Langer's ensure was the Finch disaster when Renshaw was fit. I don't buy for one second he wan't. If he wasn't he'd have been back next test. Clear as day they didn't get on, so I'm glad Langer is gone.

Averaged 29 in India, 19 in Bangladesh and 9 in South africa...

Quick get him in hes the saviour!

That 29 aside from Smith was our best one basically there! It sure is better than playing Finch

The biggest problem in the India loss last season was that the coach and selectors backed in the bowlers, who didn't want to be rotated out. India had a fresh attack in the last test, ours was knackered and we couldn't defend 330.

Last time I looked Matt isn’t from NSW

You are correct,so you are bringing Renshaw in as opener and he does not even open for his state any more.Who are you dropping Khawaja or Head.If you reckon Harris's test average is not good enough for a test player not sure Renshaw's is either then.

Khawaja wouldn’t play. I’d definitely be having Renshaw over Harris at least can cover positions and is a good fielder

Bailey and Dodemaide provide a sensible source of decision making. Hohns and JL would not have known who Boland was.
