What did you want Cummins to do?

He works with this guy on a day to day basis, if he doesn't think he should be head coach he has every right to that opinion.

WA fans and crying about NSW is one of the most tiring things to read as an Australian cricket fan.

The beauty of what has played out is that the pressure is on the agitators to perform. At this point we can only speculate who they are, what happens if their form slips ....
We do know where we were, sandpapergate. Zero
We know where we got to with Langer. Hero
NEXT ?

Bailey and Dodemaide provide a sensible source of decision making. Hohns and JL would not have known who Boland was.

For quite a few seasons Boland and Tremain were very handy bowlers for Victoria.Boland always looked like he would be a top shield bowler but not quite up to test standard.

BNG made his own bed

The way the game is played is that the coach sees the writing on the wall and announces that they’re walking away at the end of their contract. This lets them save face and gives the governing body time and clean air to find the replacement.

If he doesn’t the governing body either has to sack him (worst case scenario) or announce that he’s not getting a renewal (which undermines his authority for the remainder of his tenure). Neither is good for the coach, the team, or the governing body.

The six month offer was a way to nudge BNG into doing the right thing and quit on something like his own terms. The only reason it’s not worked out that way is because he has chosen to throw the toys out of the pram in a massive way, getting his mates to stir up the hoi polloi.
Well he did quit.
He didn't throw the toys out of the cot.
He didn't say anything at first.

Just about everyone in the media, not just ex-team mates have said it was handled terribly.
Don't let your dislike for the bloke take the blame away from CA.

What does Rita Pahini think about all this, asked absolutely nobody ever.

But didnt Langer pick Boland? as Luke states the buck stops with the coach

Picking Marsh near a test squad is a mile worse at least.

Unfortunately there isn’t some perfect selectors and some perfect coach

The biggest problem in the India loss last season was that the coach and selectors backed in the bowlers, who didn't want to be rotated out. India had a fresh attack in the last test, ours was knackered and we couldn't defend 330.

On the other hand though when Micky Arthur had the rotation policy going Australia could hardly buy a wicket.

Cummins has gone from the poster boy to one of the most hated people in Australia lol

Hey at this rate it’s going to be a Bring Back Smithy campaign lol

I’ll be running out of popcorn

Suppose Tim Paine's issue didn't become public, he played the Ashes, the series played out exactly the same, and he retired from test cricket at the end (which was his plan anyway). Do you think we'd be appointing a new coach with a new captain if the plan from CA all along was to part ways with Langer after the Ashes or would he be given the chance to work with a new captain?

Don’t think it would have mattered. After the Indian series disaster Langer was on borrowed time

Should've bitten my tongue there, I just want them to lay off Cum dog, I love him.

They will everyone will forget about it when we start the Pakistan tour anyway
