Jon Ralph on the Midweek Tackle saying that Breust could join Richmonds coaching ranks under Adem Yze. Think they probably worked together at the Hawks. Not sure if it is a line coach or development coach, but I would guess it is as a development coach
Was Jon wearing his tiger scalf?
Would Zeibell step up into a more senior role?

One of the best hybrid forwards the game has ever seen. Would be perfect to teach Alger.

Pretty damn uninspiring internal promotions tbh

Batchelor and Lonergan to step into AFL line roles
Seems like they missed out on the big fish, so they're going with two cheaper options instead of one.

Might not be so bad, given development is the big priority for our coaches at the moment. Bring in a new VFL coach, and someone fresh out of the game like Luke Bruest.

Batchelor has done a pretty good job with the vfl program, it was a pretty solid set up before he arrived but did well nonetheless. It is an internal promotion but sounds like we went to market and batchelor stood out of the available candidates. Either a weak field or a good sign of the development of our off-field personal, tigers staff have been in pretty big demand league wide recently

Are we sure Breust isn't just here for Serpell to help out with his ACL/MCL injury?

All jokes aside, think he'll be a great mentor for some of our younger forwards, and adding fresh eyes from a Hawthorn program led by Sam Mitchell hopefully brings some fresh and innovating ideas for our program going forward.

Taylor Duryea also linked to us on ch 7 News . Assuming as a development coach with Bruest

TIGERS SHAPING AS NEW HOME FOR FORMER HAWKS

Richmond has emerged as a likely new home for premiership Hawthorn teammates Luke Breust and Taylor Duryea as they step into coaching.

Both Breust and Duryea are deep in talks with the Tigers about joining what would be a stacked development team at Punt Rd, alongside North Melbourne great Jack Ziebell.

Former head of development Sam Lonergan (stoppages/midfield) and VFL coach Jake Batchelor (defence) were recently moved into assistant coach line roles at Richmond.

Breust was much sought-after in his retirement after 308 games and three flags with the Hawks, with his playing career ending this month with an unfortunate knee injury.

The small forward great is set to join good mate Duryea at Richmond, who won a VFL flag with Footscray in his last game for the club on Sunday, capping a 219-game AFL career with the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn.

Breust and Duryea played together in the 2014 and 2015 premierships at the Hawks, when Richmond senior coach Adem Yze was at the club, creating a connection that brought the pair to the Tigers.

Yze and Duryea worked closely together when the Tigers coach was backline coach at the Hawks.

Richmond has consciously planned to deepen its development group given its young list, with Breust set to work with young forwards and Duryea defenders.

That means we'll have two extra coaches than this year. I wonder who gets the VFL gig?
