Assistant coach of the year a few years back. Had the dees defence humming. He'd be a good get.

Agree. Would make sense for him career wise too. Has spent a long time at the Dees, won a flag, had a taste of being senior coach as caretaker. Would be good for him to experience coaching at another club for a few years before he chases a head coach position.

We have a pretty experienced coaching group too. Good chance for him to learn some things from the likes of Caracella and Rutten and long-time footy boss Livo.

Yeah I remember Rance was keen af to get him over.

Not really a fan of us gathering ex tigers from our period of no success either.

Ex-Richmond perhaps, when was Chaplin last at the club? He’s been away for a while. So doesn’t matter too much I don’t think.

Mini hadn't coached anywhere else and was assistant at Richmond for 10 years when Dimma left. Plus he clearly had very similar favorites and philosophies to Dimma. Chaplin has been at the Dees for 9 years and was only at Richmond for 4 as a player. Vlastuin and Short are the only 2 players that remain from his time @ RFC. Hardly the same.

Can we job swap Newman for Chaplin, because Newman is about as useful as a paper machete fishing trawler.

Richmond needs a forwards coach who knows what they are doing!

Tad harsh there on Newey he's welcomed back at hawthorn anytime because he is good at developing, something we need really badly the lack of experience in the front half of the ground was gaping and taking over a bunch of first years isn't a results based job , it's more about integration and team bonding with onfield results a daylight last , not saying he is the right man but I think all our coaches did an amazing job this season even Serpell, rfc women is a total shit show hurts seeing conti carrying the whole team most weeks.....
