Assistant coach of the year a few years back. Had the dees defence humming. He'd be a good get.Don't mind this - have heard good things.
Was kind of hoping we'd pull some IP out of Pies/Cats/GC (Grigg) etc though

Agree. Would make sense for him career wise too. Has spent a long time at the Dees, won a flag, had a taste of being senior coach as caretaker. Would be good for him to experience coaching at another club for a few years before he chases a head coach position. He is very highly regarded. Would be a great addition.
We have a pretty experienced coaching group too. Good chance for him to learn some things from the likes of Caracella and Rutten and long-time footy boss Livo.Agree. So was the issues with Melbourne inability to score midfield or forward line? This will be a good appointment, and has already worked with Yze

Was important culturally for us in his time as wellAssistant coach of the year a few years back. Had the dees defence humming. He'd be a good get.
Yeah I remember Rance was keen af to get him over. Was important culturally for us in his time as well
Probably had a direct hand in helping Rance, Grimes and Astbury become the players they did
Ex-Richmond perhaps, when was Chaplin last at the club? He’s been away for a while. So doesn’t matter too much I don’t think.Weird dynamic in that we went for Yze over Mini in part to not wanting to be insular and opting for a fresh voice and new ideas. But now we are hiring almost exclusively ex-richmond people

Mini hadn't coached anywhere else and was assistant at Richmond for 10 years when Dimma left. Plus he clearly had very similar favorites and philosophies to Dimma. Chaplin has been at the Dees for 9 years and was only at Richmond for 4 as a player. Vlastuin and Short are the only 2 players that remain from his time @ RFC. Hardly the same.Weird dynamic in that we went for Yze over Mini in part to not wanting to be insular and opting for a fresh voice and new ideas. Troy and Dylan were huge Titanic fans.Serpell v Chaplin regarding who gets the guys to run with hands on hips and who adopts the plane approach View attachment 2422862
Can we job swap Newman for Chaplin, because Newman is about as useful as a paper machete fishing trawler.Weird dynamic in that we went for Yze over Mini in part to not wanting to be insular and opting for a fresh voice and new ideas. But now we are hiring almost exclusively ex-richmond people

Hope so. Smart af footballer. Our young forwards could learn so much from him.Jon Ralph on the Midweek Tackle saying that Breust could join Richmonds coaching ranks under Adem Yze. Think they probably worked together at the Hawks. Not sure if it is a line coach or development coach, but I would guess it is as a development coach
