Richo started a year before Bevo. Look at their respective fortunes. He's gone if they don't make the eight.

Clearly if Buckley survives they will have to make the eight for the m to survive.

This thread should really wait until after finals. Hardwick could be gone if they don't win at least one this year but if they make a grand final I think he'd be safe even if they fell apart next year.

Im going to say Hardwick depending on how we start off next year
He's out of contract next year anyway and coming off this season expectations will be high at tigerland

Absolutely clueless. We have one of the youngest cores(our best players) in the competition, yet you're asking how hard we will 'fall'?

Our top 10 rated players this year by Champ Data are:
1 Marcus Bontempelli (21 yrs old)
2 Jackson Macrae (23 yrs old)
3 Luke Dahlhaus (24 yrs old)
4 Mitchell Wallis (24 yrs old)
5 Toby McLean (21 yrs old)
6 Jason Johannisen (24 yrs old)
7 Lachlan Hunter (22 yrs old)
8 Shane Biggs (25 yrs old)
9 Caleb Daniel (21 yrs old)
10 Marcus Adams (24 yrs old)

Our 3 best players in our Premiership win last year were Johannisen (23 at the time), Tom Boyd (21 at the time) and Bontempelli (20 at the time).
We've also got a 23yr old All-Australian Jake Stringer who is currently injured (As well as off field issues having just divorced after having 2 kids at such a young age).

We were simply a very young team that won a flag way ahead of schedule, then got ahead of themselves and celebrated too hard in the off season (as seen on almost all their instagrams).
To think that a team with this talented young core will "fall" and "crash" to the point where the "AFL will need to step in and assist" is probably the dumbest thing I've ever read of Bigfooty.

Even if Bevo is the worst coach in the AFL (which he isn't), natural improvement from age/experience of our young core would be enough to keep us competitive in the future.
I beg to differ. 3/4 of the players you mentioned are cooked.

Since Essendon wants to welcome back Hird, I reckon a few knives will be out for Worsfold.
Why? Galvanised the group in a shocking year last year, has got them in the 8 this year? Essendon wants to welcome back Hird? I reckon every single player on that list to an extent wouldn't want to be in sneezing distance of Hird.

That's just a really poor attempt at trolling by a supporter of a nothing team. Every one of those players would make your best 22.

Richardson will be gone next year after another failed year

Hinkley has taken us beyond week 2 in finals, we made a prelim from 5th in 2014. In fact history shows that we are a completely different animal come finals time under him, both finals losses have been narrow.

Buckley - if he survives
B.Scott
Lyon
Simpson
Hinkley
Bolton - Blues need to win 8+
Pretty arbitrary to say 8 wins before knowing what happens in offseason.

If we lose gibbs casboult simpson and dont bring in anyone but draft picks, the team will be weaker than this year.

If we keep them and add kelly? Yes we better damn well win 8.

Either way you need to know the list moves first.

Adam Simpson might get a free hit if the club formally hits the 'rebuild' button. It's already being signalled that there will be quite a few significant list changes at the Eagles this year.

Extending Nathan Buckley would be the stupid move to end all stupid moves. I would bet a tenner or more that Collingwood will miss the eight in 2018.

Ross Lyon sort of gets a free hit from the fact that Fremantle are already in a rebuild. But I thought part of a rebuild (especially by a defence-first coach) was NOT shooting young players' confidence with multiple non-competitive 100-point losses. But Lyon also gets a bit of a free hit on account of his reputation as some sort of Clarkson-esque master. There are plenty of lemmings who are happy to remain on board his ship to nowhere - HMS Fraud.

Worsfold had the highest approval rating of any coach earlier this year. Fair to say the knives are not out.

So far I'd say he's met expectations - obviously 2016 was a wash but you could say that at least he did a good job developing players. I actually thought he did a good job of getting us to be relatively competitive with a poor team that year - only the 1 100 point loss without most of our senior players.

2017 - On the face of it - if we make finals a pass. If we win a finals game a success. For me the transformation of our forward line alone - makes this year a big success for Worsfold.

2018 - I'd say there will be a bit more pressure and it is the last year of his contract but honestly if Worsfold still wants to continue coaching - I'd be expecting a 2020 renewal.

Not many coaches face serious pressure within 3 years these days unless they have been doing a truly awful job. These days clubs prefer stability.

I think you badly misread the intent of Lindsay Tanner's statements. Saying you want a great player for the club back in the fold does not mean giving him the coaching job.

Was just a tongue in cheek coment. He's doing a great job especially with the the younger guys. Dons are playing an exciting brand of footy that even neutrals enjoy watching.

Simpson will be significantly under pressure all next year such as the nature of a two team town like Perth. Journalists get absolutely stuck into Ross or Simmo.
