I don't get it. Under pressure from who? Clubs don't jeopardise their own coaches performance by putting pressure on them. Are you talking about the media? **** 'em. These geniuses thought Hardwick should get the chop. Here's a little known fact, the coaches are all pretty similar in ability, some are in the right place at the right time and look like geniuses (Clarkson). With Scott, Hardwick & Buckley surviving this year, it looks like clubs are finally growing up, evaluating the recruiting staff & fitness gurus instead. It's about time. This exercise of predicting coaches downfall is pretty lowbrow. Why not just leave it for the Herald Sun? A bigger question is 'which wiggle will be under pressure next year'. I'm putting my money on the red one. He can't dance for shit. And now, if I can take this opportunity to say a few words about Pauline Hansen. It's my understanding that she want to ban the burger. It seems ridiculous. Maybe flipping them all day in her fish & chip shop has turned her against them. I doubt McDonalds will let her get away with it. Hungry Jacks won't be happy either. I don't eat them all the time, because I know they're not great for you. But sometimes I have a craving. Let's hope she has a change of heart.

The heat is on
Lyon - Another year like this one and he'll get the arse
Cameron - The Ferrari has stalled in pit lane!
Buckley - Had better be 6 - 5 or more by the half way mark or those extra credits Eddie gave him will be all gone!

The pot is getting hotter
Goodwin - Missing the finals puts the heat up a notch, that should the Demons playing GWS this week...
Richardson - Saints would need a finals berth i reckon to keep his gig in 2019
C Scott - If he goes out in straight sets his finals record will do him in, his job is on the line this week.
Simpson - O Lucky man...not convinced about the Eagles long term prospects, but may have saved himself from the boiling pot

Getting warmer
Beveridge - What's going on at the Dogs? Behind the scenes stuff again? Losing Stringer? Are they nuts?
Hinkley - The president has called it about the players, but poor old Kenny might get the chop and it's not really his fault! Wouldn't mind him back at the Cats!

The heat turned down
Hardwick - If the Tigers go out in the preliminary like we all know they shouldn't, but probably will, then look out!

40 points scored in a final, horrid gameplan should be at the top of the list if they do the same this weekend.

Should be sacked if they score 40 points this week, should be sacked if they lose by more than 5 goals, should be sacked if they lose period!

No, people are getting sucked into how we performed this year as opposed to their expectations of us at the beginning of the year which have us pretty much where most people predicted.

While it's infuriating that we missed the finals given the position we were in, we did damn well to be in that position to begin with and that's a largely because of Goodwin.

Gawn and Hogan missing half of the season.

Losing Spencer when had already lost Gawn leaving us with no legitimate ruckman.

Nate Jones missing 6 weeks.

Watts, Tyson and Viney missing 4 weeks (at the same time as well as Jones).

It kills me that we didn't make finals given the position we were in but taking a deep breath and stepping back and assessing we can take multiple things out of this season:
- We still managed to remain competitive and win some games without a legitimate ruckman and constantly changing forward line
- Showed an ability to fight back from a decent deficit
- Performed pretty well interstate
- Managed to actually win multiple games in a row

Missing the finals this year had no effect on Simon Goodwin's position at Melbourne, next year however is a different story but I fully expect to be playing finals footy next year.

Except having a majority of your best players missing at various stages is probably what led to this inconsistency.
What about say the weeks where they really have had most of their best players there, not as if they haven't had those weeks. They have really got through this year on talent alone.

Not saying Cameron is the only coach at risk though. He might need just better assistants.

I find it strange barely anyone predicted Geelong to win the Grand Final, they finished H/A higher than almost everyone predicted, almost everyone is saying Sydney will win against Geelong, and while favourites against Tigers, it was almost 50/50.

Yet when if it goes as many predict, theres calls for Scott to under pressure or even sacked?

I think Scott has done very well to get that list into the top 4.
