I’d love to know which coach gave these four! I think the final two are straightforward enough.

Willing to bet everything on Fly giving Quaynor the 3 votes. Can't see him leaving IQ out altogether as that game was exactly what you want to see from him.

Agree and I would have the same personally. Stats show a big game from
Josh on disposals and meters gained, but they won’t show you he got caught daydreaming ball in hand twice and that he failed to have an impact when in the middle. 4 SIs for 30 touches isn’t great. In comparison IQ killed every contest that came his way and played the game with an intensity above any on the field. A coach-pleasing game for sure.

Though that leaves me very surprised with Fly giving Titch two votes (based on my read of the game and his presser) unless he was feeling charitable and gave them to Hopper which leaves Yze reading the stat sheet and giving his 3 and 2 to the Pies’ top disposal getters automatically which is possible.

Gut feel is that Fly would give the 2 to Hopper rather than Mitchell but I'm nowhere near as confident about that.

What a ridiculous summation of Josh Daicos game. Failed to have an impact in the centre. He was in there for like 20% of the game. He also had 6 I50 , he got caught once where there were no options up the ground and was also run down where he also managed to get a handball free and kept the ball in motion. It’s the 10th time he’s had 30 or mord fisposals in a game this year. And in a season where territory is key, and maintaining territory 697 metres gained is enormous. His ball use in sloppy conditions was also in the high 70’s per cent , including a lace out 45 metre gem to Membrey on the lead. Richmond play a style of football huge numbers behind the ball in our 50. Plenty of players were caught with the ball or run down.

Josh averages 5.5 SI per game. Not too many half backs in the game outside of the freakish NWM at the Saints, are anywhere near that number. So 4 SI is poor in a game. What a joke .

Hello, no need to be so aggressive. If you want to use stats, SIs per disposal speak for themselves for impact. I don’t put any weight on DE% and neither should you. He gets put in the middle ont he last two games on the back of Q4 vs Suns. So far, not the impact we’d hope but yes only 4 CBA for 1 CC, none around the ground.

By the way I’m not saying he had a crap game, just wouldn’t feature in my top 4 (Vlastuin the obvious from the oppo). And if you think I hate Josh, think again. I was a big and early advocate to put him at HB and use his exquisite kicking there. But if he has a game where he has 5 turnovers it’s a little below what he can do especially when we win games on the back of defence and I rated IQ and Bruz’ games highly on that front.

I agree I rated IQ game, predominantly first half. But to use wording like day dreaming and no impact, regardless of where playing, and criticising 4 SI , I believe is harsh. Not that they’d know but in zero hangar MVP , Josh received 4 x 4 votes and there’s been plenty of strong games from Josh this year where they didn’t give him the votes he probably deserved . Anyway I’ll take the intercept impact from IQ , and I’ll take 30 touches 697 metres gained from a half back any day of the week.

No dramas. The way I saw that particular game is that Richmond pushed numbers back giving us loads of 1:1 in the back so I rate that part of the game vs our usual drive from HB. Josh is tracking well year-wise; but there is a caveat for those who thought he’d be able to consistently impact in the middle the way he did vs Suns. Good card to have but not sure we’re going to pull it that often at the moment unless injuries force a few out of our midfield.

It was a strange game in that best and second best on the ground were miles above everyone else - and then everyone else was just kind of out there on the park with them.

I thought whilst there was a gap after those two that IQ was clearly the 3rd best.

A raffle after that though for sure.

Over the course of the season, I reckon the only player that has been more important to us than Darcy Cameron, is Nick. Cameron has deserved a much higher vote tally.

Why wait for the votes to come out. Obviously no Pies will get a vote for last night, so have updated the Pies leaderboard for the Hawks game in advance:(
