Thought others might find this of interest. Below are the coaches' votes to Round 12 for all Collingwood players that are on 10 votes or greater.

Swan - 48 (polled 7 games)
Pendlebury - 29 (7 games)
Ball - 23 (6 games)
Shaw - 18 (3 games)
Thomas - 17 (4 games)
Cloke - 16 (3 games)
Beams - 14 (4 games)
Didak - 13 (4 games)

Ball polling very well suggests it is probably he, and not Thomas, who will be rounding out our top 3 this year (health permitting).

Swan, Thomas and Pendlebury are definitely my top 3 at this stage. Ball is probably in the next three with Didak and O'brien. Missing games really hurts your chances the way our voting works. Thomas has played every game so far (that's 12 votes straight up) and his consistency will see him poll a lot of 1 votes games on top of that. Ball may have polled in 6 games for the coaches award but that is roughly how many games he'll poll extra votes in the copeland. Thomas has polled in 4 games for the coaches award but will definitely poll in more than 4 games in the copeland imo.

To be honest, I think these coaches votes hold higher significance than the umpires votes (brownlow). The coaches will have a stronger understanding on which players influence the game as they have an intricate knowledge of structures and internal objectives.

Also looking at yesterdays coaches votes, I wouldve thought that Davey would have definately got some. But he didnt poll a single votes, and Beams did when I thought he was just average.

Swan's now second behind Hodge. Ablett has hardly got any votes the past few weeks. Swan is defintely rated highly by the coaches but not by the umpires. Was saying this in the Brownlow Medal thread that if Swan doesn't at least get 2 Brownlow votes from yesterdays match it's a joke.

Sometimes I really think we all take Swanny for granted. He is a star, who plays his guts out every game and never has a bad game. Some OK or servicable games but never a bad one.

FWIW, Swan, Pendles & Bally leading the Copeland just in front of Daisy.

I cannot see anyone beating Swanny for the Copeland. He just plays consistently well.
