Coaching and off-field staff thread

Now that we've got our coaching structure set for the coming year, I figured it was time to spin off its own thread to cover what our expectations are for Fagan's strategies, assistant and NEAFL responsibilities and so on.

Our staff:

Head Coach: Chris Fagan

Assistant Coaches:
- Danny Daly (Football Strategy Coach)
- Ben Hudson (AFL forward line and ruck coach)
- Murray Davis (AFL back line coach)
- Dale Tapping (AFL midfield coach)
- Jed Adcock (Assistant AFL midfield coach)

Development Coaches:

- Scott Borlace (Head of Development and Training Coordinator)
- Mitch Hahn (NEAFL coach)
- Zane Littlejohn (Assistant AFL forward line and NEAFL forward line coach)
- Paul Henriksen (Assistant AFL back line and NEAFL back line coach)

I'm interested to see how Scott Borlace's career progresses.

He was promoted from the academy last year and within a year is our head of development. Admittedly we've largely brought in new coaches under him (except for Mitch Hahn), but you'd think that he must have been doing pretty well. I wonder whether we see him as a longer-term development specialist, or whether he's likely to cross over into match-day coaching at any stage.

Sack Fagan!

Can anyone tell me what Fagan's gameplan is because I can't see it!

Fagan has no Plan B!

Fagan has lost the players!

Why is Fagan standing up in the coach's box?

Fagan making the same old excuses about injuries and our young list again!

.... just wanted to be first on all of those!

I can't believe Fagan was standing while addressing the players.
What on Earth is going on in this World!

We should preemptively use the Meltdown prefix for this thread I reckon.

Good to see that we're expecting not to have enough mids in the NEAFL team to have a specific line coach there. Fagan aware of what happens to us it seems :p

I assume Jed has that role as it lines up with the responsibilities for the other assistant coaches, but he's listed separately and without it specifically.

I was trying to be a smart arse and I don't appreciate your logic and reasoning thank you very much

What I would be interested to know is who our football analyst is?

I read an interesting article in one of the papers over the weekend that Luke Beveridge's "senior analyst" that sits above the assistants defected to GWS. The article mentioned it being a massive blow for the Dogs.

Further to that the article mentioned movement of another club's senior football analyst from one club to another.

All I could think reading the article is whether we even have one?

Pretty sure the club just prints out the BigFooty match thread. Crowdsourced analysis.

Didn't David Noble do this or something similar on Game days for Adelaide before being poached by the AFL for Brisbane. I am sure I read an article when we were first being linked to him. And it was one of his best attributes i believe so i am assuming that may be the case on game day for us.

Unless it changed during the off-season, think it's still James Spencer.

Oh I thought I logged into Bigfooty, no FACEBOOK.

Also loved when he said you come to training with a purpose, you don't just turn up. Have what you want to work on in your head because I will ask you, they're the rules. Something along those lines...

I liked this.

Give the players ownership of their goals but at the same time make them accountable for them.
